"And as I always believed and said, Let fate handle it.... You never know If you'd be the one to become his savior throughout your whole lives. And the next."  I knew Constance, and I knew she predicted lots of things in her life time... All her words had meanings. And those last words had left me feeling an uncertain emotion.

" So you're saying... We crossed paths for a reason?" She took a sip of her tea before she spoke.

"Yes. Everything happens for a reason. If your father hadn't asked you to fetch him things from the market. Do you think you'd have met the boy after that?" I just sat and listened.

"If you hadn't done anything to stop Mr. Benson from hurting him, he would have stopped from ever going to that place. Boys like him, quiet, are not always as they seem. They are very different people once they've seen someone show sincere kindness. Your actions, bring him back. And if you hadn't left your home. What would you think your life would have been like without him in it? And your actions figure out whether or not how he sees you as a person. A real one. "

"He's intrigued by you miss Cecile, you're the only person who helped him despite what he looks like. Cause you know good and well, What people in that town are like. Evil, and judgmental." I nodded.

"So... You think he actually doesn't want me to leave him alone?" I questioned while I took a sip of my tea then setting it down.

"Nobody wants to be alone miss Cecile. Their just used to being by themselves that... it's all they're used to." She sighs, I saw her looking down with a smile that never reached her eyes. She looked up from her focus on the tea cup and then grabbed mine once she saw I was done with it. "Hungry? I'd be happy to fix you something to eat." Constance said cheerfully.

"I better hope you come back to see me again." I laughed.

"Of course you will see me, I'll always come back. Take care Constance." She gave me a tight hug, it felt different than her usual ones, she held on longer than she had before.

"Be careful miss Cecile." She softly whispered before placing her hand on my back as I walked out the front door.

I hadn't noticed how long I've been gone. The sunrise barely illuminated the dark parts of our town. In all honesty, I didn't want to head back home just yet. I wanted to watch the sunrise. Something I never got to do before.
