(Recap)I couldn't have him live on without his other half. So I made sure to end his suffering, and for them to reunite again. A bond like that... Is only shared once with two people. And it always will be.
"Just kill me... Please. I just want to be with her again.""I'll make sure you see her again. Please forgive me." I then stabbed him in the abdomen. The sharp object clattered onto the floor. I stumbled back, starting to feel the guilt eating at me.
I fled the room and on my way out I had looked back and watched him lay his head on her stomach, taking his last breath.

(Alaric's POV)I had tried to go after man who told me she had done it. Only to have it be a lie. He was gone, no trace of where he was.
So I stayed away. Away from people who I could hurt. And I knew, I would hunt him down.
Kim Seokjin.
I believed his lies. So blinded by driven vengeance, and pure hatred. I should've trusted my gut. She could never hurt anyone. Not even her own mother. She was already turned, I helped her with her over driven thirst for blood. I took a mother from her children. If they died, I'd rather have them die being killed rather than starvation.
After I helped her keep her thirst at ease, I left. I couldn't look at her and be reminded of what I did. I created her. But I couldn't bring it to an end. It would be me killing a piece of Viola, I didn't have the heart to.
Hundreds of years had gone by, traveling far into the world, stumbling upon a city. People were accepting of our kind. But not sure of mixed beings. I wasn't a full blood. Witches can live forever. So do vampires.
Years of lurking in the shadows, I noticed new creatures had been showing up in the city. None I've ever stumbled upon before in my life.
I sensed vampire blood in those creatures. These were made in the hands of a human.I had killed one that was split from their group and that's when I saw her. Cecile had been running alongside with two other men. I followed them. I stood on top of a building away from their eye view. And when I saw another head moving behind the dumpster, I recognized a familiar face.
It was the young boy who wanted to be with Cecile again. A piece of my soul felt at rest knowing they had managed to find each other.

(Back to present)
"Yes mother. It's me." She brought me into a hug, and I sniffed the air in her home, and it reeked of another vampire.
"What are you doing here? I haven't seen you in forever. I'm so happy to see you my son." She grabbed my face into her hands and stared into my eyes. I sensed something different about her, she looked older, not as youthful as before."I thought I'd um, Come see you, you know since I haven't seen you in a long time." The smile never reached my eyes. My hands were placed behind my back.
"Well you're always welcome here." I squinted my eyes when she turned around."I actually came here to talk to you about something." I said with worry.
"Remember long ago you showed me you made a poison that only witches are able to make. The only one in fact that's been created, no one else has. Do you still have it locked up like you told me?" My mother's breathing halted for a split second.
She laughed with exaggeration.
"Of course I do. Why would you ask." She stood there as still as can be. I shrugged and began walking around her home, touching everything that I seemed to sense where the vampire had been."Cecile's had been poisoned. The girl you've been watching over while I was gone. It's odd." I took a deep breath in.
"I sensed it was familiar. Almost like the poison you made long ago? Unless someone else knows about it?""Are you implying I had a part in this? Why would you accuse your own mother of something like that? That girl was someone I knew since she was a baby." I scoffed. Then grabbed a picture frame that held a picture of me and chucked it to the floor.
"Show it to me. I said show it to me!" I screamed with pure anger that had been built up inside me for years, as I finally let it all go. Stuff that hung on the walls had fallen off, shattering on the floor.
She clamped her lips shut and stood there without moving muscle.
"If you don't show me r-right now, I'll make sure you never see me again. For good."She led me down to the attic where she had most of the potions and poisons stored. Herbs and books that have been there for centuries had now been covered in dust.
She brought out a case that had nothing protecting it from the outside. The only way to open it, was a spell."It better be in there." She chanted in a language spoken only by witches, and with a touch of her finger, the case had opened. She slowly opened it. And I knew there was nothing in there. I sighed in disappointment. So it was true.
"I knew it. I knew it! You are never going to see me again, I promise you that!" I ran up the stairs, before feeling a hand grab at my wrist.
"Please son I can explain!" I pushed her hand off me and shoved her back.
"Explain what!? That you poisoned the only person that you took care of? The child of someone you thought was a daughter?!" Her mouth opened and closed, like she wanted to say something, but couldn't."I had to- he told me if I didn't give it to him, then- He would kill you. I couldn't let that happen. I'm sorry Alaric, it was the poison or you" She reached out for my hands again and I let her. I stared at her for any sign of untruthfulness in her eyes. I looked away, letting her think I believed her.
I bent down to her level and made eye contact.
"You're lying to me." I whispered in her face."You know how I can tell you're lying? Did you forget what your son was? Or are you that foolish? Every single thing I touched here. Has the scent of his! He was here, and you willingly let him take it! You are much more powerful than he is, so don't tell me you couldn't have fought against him with your powers."
She looked down in shame. "You're right. I should've. But I didn't. You need to help her while you still can."
"How can I? I'm not the one who made the poison in the first place! You need to tell me how to heal her. You said it needed the blood of the other half, it didn't work."
"A sacrifice has to be made..."
"A sacrifice? Why?"
"When I made the poison. The devil demanded it takes the soul of any living thing who has it in their system. So she's dead. But in order for her to come back alive, that's where the sacrifice comes in. A soul for a soul."
I began laughing hysterically. I was astonished, it was completely barbaric. What was going through her mind when she made it.
"What were you thinking? In what aspect did you think a poison this dangerous would come in handy!?" I made a lunge for her, but I stopped myself, my hands were tightly closed into a fist.
"You know what mother. I'm not wasting my time with you anymore. I'm done with you..."
"Alaric please-" I ignored her and never turned back around.
