Sorry for all the short, sucky chapters. I'm just waiting for the good parts ;)

Madison's POV
I woke up on an extremely comfortable mattress and fluffy pillows, confused until I remembered where I was. I jumped with joy before changing out of the comfortable pajamas Sophia gave me. I took a quick shower before putting the pajamas on again. I left all my clothes in my old bedroom. I brushed my teeth and pulled my long blonde hair into a ponytail. I knocked on Emma's door. She was also getting ready. We hugged happily, so excited to not only be sisters by choice, but also by official paperwork. We headed downstairs, where Sophia was making pancakes.
"Good morning Mrs. Payne." I said.
"Call me mom." she smiled.
"Good morning mom." The words sounded weird coming out of my mouth. I hadn't called anyone that in a long time.
"We've invited Louis, Eleanor, and Jertha over for breakfast."
"That's, um, nice." Emma and I exchanged glances.
As if on cue, the doorbell sounded throughout the house.
"Ill get it." Liam called to his wife.

Jertha and her parents walked in.
"Hi friends." she smiled a fake smile. When the adults turned around, she sneered at us.
We rolled our eyes at her ridiculousness.
"Girls, take Jertha and show her your rooms, yeah?" Liam said.
"Sure." Emma replied. We all went upstairs, but listened in on their conversation.
"I can't deal with her. She seems slightly bratty. Yes, she's my daughter, but I don't know." All of our faces paled. We couldn't tell which one of our dads said that.
"Give her a chance." a feminine voice said. "She will change. Being there has made her hard, but she will soften up."

My hands started shaking. What if they were talking about me, or Emma?
Jertha seemed uneasy as well. When the adults called us down for breakfast, we tried to appear as if that conversation hadn't startled us.

When Jertha left with her parents, Emma and I decided to talk to Liam and Sophia.
"Mom, dad I'm so sorry for eavesdropping, but was that conversation about us?" I was on the verge of tears. Everything was so perfect.
"Honey, we love you guys so much, and you girls were nothing but thankful. Louis was talking about your friend."
I felt so relieved. Emma beside me looked much less tense.
As happy as I was, I didn't want Jertha to go back. I know how it feels, and I wouldn't want to be in her place.
"She's a nice girl." I blurted. Emma looked at me with a shocked expression on her face. "she's been in and out of foster homes so she's not used to having a permanent home and family." I said. I wasn't lying. Jertha had been hardened by her foster home experience, but she became a bitch all on her own.
"I'll make sure to tell Louis that. Thank you, honey." Liam said.
"Okay girls, ready to go shopping?" Sophia asked playfully.
"Um, yes!" We both shouted.
"I don't mean to complain, but we have nothing to wear." Emma said.
"Don't worry." Sophia laughed "I have some clothes you can borrow."

45 min later

We arrived at a huge mall. I had never been at the mall. We stopped at stores like Pacsun, Urban Outfitters, Brandy Melville, Topshop, and Forever 21. My parents were so generous, and let us get anything we wanted, such as clothes, shoes, and room decor.
"This is awesome! I've never been shopping here!" Emma exclaimed, barely able to hold all of her bags. Sophia was very stylish and bought us some clothes from Free People and American Apparel.
"I can barely hold all of these bags!" I laughed.
"Girls, if you want, we can drop off your bags in the car." Liam said.
"Yes please!" Emma and I laughed.
We went shopping at Pink and Victorias Secret with Sophia, before heading to Nordstrom's. Sophia surprised us by buying us both neoprene swimsuits from Triangl.
"Emma and Madison, would you mind waiting? We have to go get something."
Liam said.
"Sure."
"No problem." I said.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Clarissa with Leila and Poralle. They saw us and began coming our way.
I wanted to smack her with the box of my swimsuit.
"Hello girls." she sneered. Her face went blank when she saw what I held.
"Omg, she took the last one! It's not like you can afford it anyways." She tried snatching it from me, but I wouldn't give in.
"Stop Madison, give it to me!"
Emma laughed.
"I already bought this!" I laughed.
Clarissa stared at me.
I laughed and grabbed Emma by the arm before heading to the dress racks.

A few minutes of browsing later, Liam came with Sophia, and they held large bags.
"We decided to get you girls something special. You'll definitely need it for school. They handed us each a bag. Inside was an apple Macbook Air and an iPhone 6. We squealed in delight and screamed thank you. Our parents enveloped us in a tight hug.
We made a stop at Home Goods and Target to get hangers and some more room decor.
When we got home, Liam helped us set up the laptops and phones. I hung up all my new clothes and put away all the shoes in the walk in closet. It was really late, so I plopped down in bed. I was exhausted from all the shopping. I decided to watch Netflix using the account Liam set up for me. I fell asleep to Mean Girls
