Jertha's POV

"Hey mom. Are Emma and Madison home?" I asked, biting into a piece of toast.
"No, they went school supplies shopping." Eleanor replied
Oh. I need to go shopping. And apparently those spoiled brats went shopping yesterday, too.
"Okay."
I rushed upstairs. Louis was at a meeting, and Eleanor was cooking downstairs. A plan formed in my mind.
I crept into my parents bedroom, in search of money. Drawer after drawer; nothing. I began walking to my room, when I saw an old grandfather clock. I opened the back. There was around $2,500 stashed behind there. I took around $1,000.
I hid in in my pillowcase before heading to the mirror. My hair was fading and my brown roots were up to my ears now. My hair was quite long, up to my waist, but it was matted.
I decided to go to the hair salon, and take a taxi there.
"Mom I'm heading out!" I yelled. "Is that okay?" I added, to be polite.
"I guess. Just be back at 5:30, that's when dinners ready."
I grabbed some cash and headed out. I used the flip phone I had saved up for to dial for a taxi.
The drive wasn't too long, and I had stumbled upon a decent hair salon.
