The sound of booming drums echoed in unison creating a dramatic tune that seemed to be building up for its climax. The four hallways leading up to venue were lined with torches on the walls, crowds of people flooded into each of them- eager to get the best seats in the stadium. Upon arrival, the elevated arena mat at the very centre of it all was being tested once more to make sure all was in order, harsh lights shone upon the arena- and to either side of it were 5 steps leading to a walkway that led to a dark passage, down these passages were areas that were closed off to the public. This was where the warriors prepared. The stadium was being filled up rapidly- guards were maintaining the order and directing everyone before taking their places around the stadium. The stands were filled up already by the higher class, whilst the best areas were sectioned off for the royals, higher than everyone else, their very own VIP sections with balconies overlooking both the action of the arena and everyone within the stadium. The lower and middle class who made up the general public- took their places on the ground level.
Once everything was in order, all doors were closed- the public waited as the royals entered. First was the hosting kingdom- Star Kingdom. King Alastair and Princess Skylar with Scoops in hand, entered their area and waved from the balcony, the majority of the crowd cheered for the royal family whilst some from Sun kept their claps to a minimum. Next to enter was Moon Kingdom, King Christian, Queen Charlotte, Princess Serena with her eagle Apollo and a holographic Princess Kareena emerged and followed suit with their smiles and waves- once more cheers came from the majority whilst Sun maintained their demeanour with a few claps. Finally, the royals of Sun Kingdom emerged, King Michael entered with his usual smirk, followed by Queen Margaret, her head was lowered. Their ward Rachel followed, she too seemed to be saddened. They waved and the Queen’s wrists revealed bruises from the restraints she’d been forced to wear leading up to this event. The people of Sun Kingdom cheered loudly and this time, it was the people of Star and Moon who seemed to tone down their cheers.
A few moments later, two elites entered the fourth and final VIP area, directly across the Moon Kingdoms one- they escorted Prince Liam and his lion Leo in, both of them in restraints- the elites stood behind the Prince, watching him like a hawk. The people of Sun Kingdom raised their voices in support of Liam and he smiled, trying to be brave even though it was his life that was being fought over today- he glanced over at the Moon Kingdom royal’s area and found Kareena already looking at him, she seemed scared.
The drums began to intensify and the passageway that led under the Sun Kingdom area finally lit up- two torches on either end of the passage came on in their pairs to reveal its doors opening- Chris made his way out once all the torches were lit, his face hiding any fear, hiding any emotions at all. People called out for him from either side of the walkway, cheering him on, he cleared the path in no time and climbed his steps, he turned back and glanced up at the royal family he was fighting for, Queen Margaret seemed saddened whilst King Michael maintained his smirk. He then looked over to the area where Liam was and nodded as Liam smiled his thanks. Chris took deep breaths and moved his gaze to the passageway where Renay would make her way from momentarily. He stretched his arms out and then his neck.
