“You really can’t tell me anything? Not even how he really is?” Kareena called out in the room of ancestors.

“He is as he was…and also as he is now.” The voices called out.

Kareena rolled her eyes, “So, he’s back and he’s different…How? What happened to him?”

“It is not for us to say.”

“You’re supposed to know everything…I need to know.”

“You need to be ready. Or the efforts of many, including his, will be wasted.”

“I know…I need to train. I will. I just… I don’t know.”

“You shall bring forth the light…”

Kareena sighed, knowing she wasted her time. She couldn’t train because everyone was busy preparing for the worst and had no time to teach her. She didn’t know how to use her power, let alone what it was. Light. That’s all she had to work with.

She had one idea, one that she put off for some time. She ran off and knocked on the room doors of the room she knew Maleah was in.

She opened it, looking more like herself.

“Mal…I need your help.”

“Is everything okay?”

“Yes…I mean, I don’t know…But you know how to fight, right?”

Maleah nodded.

“Can you teach me?”

“Are you sure everything is okay?”

“Yes…I just need to know how to fight. I want to help, and I don’t know how to find my power so I’m useless in that department, but if I can atleast learn this, then I’ll have something I can use to help.”

“You don’t need to help, Kareena. Our job is to protect you. I understand though…So, sure. I’ll help.”

“Can we maybe start right now?”

Maleah laughed, and Kareena couldn’t resist it, she pounced on her, and they hugged.

Maleah wiped her eyes and smiled at her, “Let’s go.”

The source of the explosion was actually a good thing for the large group. They found the remaining two Elites from Renay’s group, assisting Chris to blow up geysers in the ground. The heat and water pressure it came up with dispersed some of the darkness to reveal bits of the sky.

People cheered upon the sight of Chris. For a moment, he looked to be the old him and this made Renay happier than anything. She smiled at him, and the realization dawned on him, he instantly felt conflicted. Liam walked over to him and hugged him, “Man, is it good to see you… I didn’t get a chance to say it before, so I’ll say it now, thank you.”
