Rachel raised her hand to knock on Seth’s door but couldn’t bring herself to do it, she instead left a rose on the floor, on top of the pile already wilting away, she waved her hand over it and revitalised them before walking away.

“Is he responsive?” Renay asked.

“I’m not sure, I couldn’t bring myself to go in.”

“What happened to…what happened isn’t on you. He isn’t going to blame you,” Renay said.

“She saved a room full of her people, hundreds of them…I couldn’t even save her. Just her,” Rachel said.

“I’m sure you did everything you could. No one expected this…but it’s only been a few days, it’s still raw. He is needed but give him some time…the rest of us need to get ready. The sky is starring to darken, like it’s being corrupted, no doubt the land will be next. We must take the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe. The King has called a council, come with. Your power will be needed.”

Rachel nodded slowly and followed Renay.

Upon entry to the council, they noticed the silence before anything else. King Alastair sat in his seat, expressionless and eyes sullen from crying and lack of sleep. It had been a few days since the event of the war and despite the King being physically present, he moved about like he was lifeless.

The council allowed Liam, Chris, and Rachel to join because of their powers. Luca was drained but also attended, he’d spent the days healing everyone he could.

“According to Kareena, when she and Seth were across, they met Aria, the princess and current ruler of Dark realm. She said that there was something she wanted from every realm, and that the books of each realm would help her get it,” The King said.

“Those books are the reason they got into the castle,” Cole said. “We realised it too late, but that won’t happen again. We’ve made sure that no area of the castle is left penetrable.”

Renay nodded.

“Okay, so the dark realm and Moon Kingdom books are safe. It’s just Sun and Star that are gone?” Serena asked.
