Remus sat at the edge of the Astronomy Tower, letting his legs dangle over the edge and a letter held loosely in his hand. The stars sparkled gaily against the dark blanket in the sky, threatening to fall as the sun peaked above the horizon. Remus got the letter earlier that morning when letters came. His mother died from muggle cancer a few years ago and Lyall was taken to Azkaban the year after, so Remus didn't get letters from anyone other than the Potters occasionally and his new family.

Long story.

Remus sighed, looking down at it. He hasn't opened it yet, probably a bad habit of his. Always putting things he doesn't want to deal with out of his mind. The letter was simple, closed with wax that had a full moon print on it. Whoever it was must know about his lycanthropy and Remus knew that there were only the Marauders plus Lily, Marlene, Dorcas, and Mary who knew about his condition- or as Sirius and James like to call it, furry little problem.

The front of the envelope had his name written with a heart next to it, though a handwriting spell was obviously used so it was unfamiliar to him. This secret person must be clever, at least, he told himself.

"Fuck it," Remus muttered, prying the wax seal off and pulling out the letter.

Remus,

I'm too much of a coward to say it to your face but also too much of a prankster to get straight to the point. You like reading.? I have to say, you're adorable when you read. Hope that doesn't sound too creepy but it's true! You're pretty much adorable with anything you do if I'm being honest.

Anyway, until the next letter,

Your secret admirer x

Who told the school, Sirius had no idea. He wanted this to just be something fun as a way to tell Remus he loves him. Not for the whole school to find out that the boy has a secret admirer!

Sirius knew that Remus wouldn't say anything no matter what happened. Moony and his secrets were an ongoing thing. So someone must have found out somehow. Sirius suspected that awkwardly short girl from Ravenclaw who was obsessed with anything that had to do with the Marauders and probably found the letter.

Turns out he was sadly right and Catherine was surrounded by all her giggly friends, wanting to know more. They were right outside the great hall and Catherine waved and batted her eyelashes flirtatiously at him. Sirius rolled his eyes and ignored her, continuing his walk to the owlery to send off Remus' second letter.

He got the help of Lily with managing the handwriting charm since it was complete crap in the first letter, so she did it better for the second. Lily was the only one who knew not only about the letters but his huge crush on Moony.

Sirius let her read all the letters before sending them off to make sure they didn't slip up, for example using 'Moony' or 'Moons' when Remus would obviously know who it is since no one dares to call Remus anything but Remus. No one is allowed to call the other Marauders their nicknames either but Sirius was oddly protective over Remus.

Well, not exactly oddly, but it's pretty odd to anyone but him and Lily.

He sped up and got to the owlery in no time, searching for an owl. Lily told him to use a different one every time, though he didn't know why. All he knew was to not question Lily Evans unless you have a wish for spending your week with pig ears and a tail to go with but from a different animal.
