Remus shook his hands nervously, leaning against the wall beside McGonagall's office. The portraits looked at him curiously but ultimately decided that he was probably just getting detention again and ignored it.

"Oi, Potter!" Remus yelled amusedly to the male as he and Lily walked around the corner. "Lemme steal your girlfriend for a few hours."

James grinned, knowing exactly what he was doing. Lily kissed James' cheek, rolling her eyes with a fond expression when he pretended to faint. "See you later, dork."

The stag animagi patted Remus on the back before skipping down the corridor, yelling "OH PADFOOT!" happily, as it was his job to distract him.

Lily snorted, slinging her back over her shoulder. She was dressed in black leggings with a light blue t-shirt that said 'No, I don't want to talk to you." since they were going to a muggle shopping center. Remus had on skinny jeans with a loose button-down, which Sirius had a hard time trying to tear his eyes away from that morning. His scars were on display, but with the help of Sirius and the other Marauders, he was trying to embrace them.

"Don't you look hot!" she whistled with a grin. Remus blushed and knocked on McGonagall's office. "Shut up," he muttered.

"Enter," a calm voice called.

The pair entered her office, Lily shutting the door behind her. McGonagall looked up and smiled at the pair of them. "Ready?"

Remus sucked up a deep breath, nodding determinedly. "Yeah 'course. Just nervous."

Lily hummed. "I'd be too. You'll be fine, we know Sirius is completely whipped for you."

"James I swear if you don't get your bloody antlers away from my record player I'm gonna steal your firstborn child."

Sirius laid on Remus' bed drawing as James was in stag form, trying and failing to switch records on the record player as a stag. Peter was on a date with Nila Wormwood, a tall buff girl he's been quietly pinning after for a few months now. Peter always had a thing with wanting to be around people who could protect him. Marlene, Dorcas, Frank, and Alice, were setting up the area near the lake where Remus would propose, but of course, Sirius didn't know that.

The stag emitted a noise that sounded like an annoyed huff. A blur of browns passed before James was standing in front of Remus' bed, ruffling his hair around.

"I miss my Moony," Sirius whined pathetically, closing his sketchbook.

James chuckled. "Sirius it's only been twenty minutes."

"That's too long," he pouted childishly. "What is he up to anyway? Is Bambi with him?"

"Yeah, stole my girlfriend." James also pouted, sitting on the floor. Sirius laid back on the pillows, staring at the ceiling as if in deep thought.

"I wonder what they're up to."

James hummed. "Well, come on. I've got detention with Minnie for the last time I did Moony's homework for him the day after the full moon when he was still in the hospital wing. Still don't know how she caught me!"

Sirius wrinkled his nose. "You forgot to use that charm to change the handwriting."

James flipped him off.

"No, Lils. I'm not getting a ring that big. Just something simple, yeah? But don't worry, I'm taking notes for Prongs."

Lily blushed and set down yet again another ring. "James and I aren't getting married anytime soon!"

"Yeah, I'll believe that when you two aren't the first with a child," said Remus with a small smirk at Lily's red face. He walked around the shop a bit more while she tried to come up with a comeback, examining rings.

His eye caught one. It was a silver band- not too thick- with small silver-colored gems across it and a few amber ones as well. He knew Sirius would love it (being the extra drama queen he is) and due to the amber, it would stand out from the others he liked to wear.

"Lily, look at this one," Remus called, glancing at the redhead who got over herself and walked over. Gasping, she squealed slightly. "Yes! This one!"

Remus laughed and picked it up, snapping the box closed and going to pay.

Remus threaded his fingers with Sirius' and lead him down to the lake. The sun was setting, blending different shades of oranges, yellows, and reds across the sky creating a beautiful view. The Hogwarts population was at dinner, so thankfully Remus didn't have to worry about being interrupted by anything but his nerves.

"Moons, where are you taking me? You know I don't like surprises!" Sirius tried to protest but secretly he didn't mind, not at all. Remus smiled a little but didn't say anything.

Once they reached the lake, the werewolf heard Sirius' sharp intake of breath, watching his silver eyes flicker around. A light blue blanket laid between the two main trees by the lake and dim golden fairy lights flickered gently above (Frank probably put the batteries in wrong; pureblood wizards are hopeless when it comes to muggle things). There wasn't any food out since it was freezing outside and the two rather have their food hot, but it was a nice place for what Remus has planned.

"Rem this is so pretty," Sirius whispered with a large smile. Remus smiled back as the two stood in the middle of the blue blanket.

Remus breathed out a shaky breath as Sirius took a moment to continue looking around. He pulled the small white box out if his pocket and crouched down on one knee.

Sirius' eyes immediately went to him. "Holy shit," he mumbled, bringing his hands to his face. "Moons-"

"Sirius, love, I don't even know where to start. When we met on the train with James and Pete, we immediately became friends. All of us, of course, but you and I were different. We knew that from the start. We were always more affectionate with each other than we were with anyone else, though it was hard to understand why due to our neglect growing up from both our families. But eventually, in fourth year, you kissed me one night in this very spot. It was the heat of the moment, but thank Merlin we didn't let it go to waste and one week later we were dating. Sirius, I love you so much, and thinking of a life without you is impossible. So, will you do me the great honor of-" Remus opened the box, revealing the sparkling ring he and Lily picked out earlier that day, "Marrying me?"

Sirius didn't hesitate. "Of course Rem."

Remus grinned and stood up, sliding the ring on Sirius' finger and letting him jump into his arms. He felt tears soak his shirt, "I love you," Sirius choked out, unable to control his smiling.

"I love you more," Remus mumbled into his neck. It wasn't even a minute later before Lily, James, Peter, Alice, Frank, Marlene, Dorcas, and anyone else close to the two all cheered excitedly and ran over to them from bushes and behind pillars (nearly scaring Remus and Sirius half to death).

Yeah, Remus would say that went well.
