Dear persephone, i loathe you,
for your blossoming soul that
I found no fit in my realm.
your eyes, a kaleidoscopic jewel
that churned in eternal night,
too bright, too much, too blue.

Dear persephone, i despise you.
for the sickening colors in my realm
that you brought along with your steps.
your flowers, persephone,
they are withering on my grip.
your petals are cold, you need Apollo,
not me, not the god of the dead.

Oh young Goddess, i beg of you, stop
the underworld has to witness spring, you said.
so there, at the core of my heart, you planted one.
blossoming carmine, fragile; your peony.
I said again, "you need the sun."
but the finest ambrosias encompassed you,
and you shone like a petite star to my soul.
you said, "I am your sun."

Dear persephone, you have to stop me.
your touch, they set me alight in series of want
your lips, they tasted of pomegranate,
a saccharine treat that I can't get enough.
they erased my fear of Demeter's anger.
deadly sins, bloodbath, and battlefield,
they were the spartans ruins in my brain
when your skin was against mine.

Dear persephone, you ruined my soul.
I am yours now, so stay, stay with me.
this is your fault, persephone,
I'm in love with you,

. . . when I shouldn't.
