As i swing my backpack over my shoulder, I quickly jog down the stairs. I was already late for school considering the time I woke up.
"Hey baby" my mom call out immediately she spots me.
"Morning Mom" I say going to give her a peck on the cheek.
I look towards the living room to see Dad doing something on his laptop" morning dad".
He looks up "morning darling" with a smile though I can see bags under his eyes.
He must have been up late working on a project. I keep telling them to stop working so late but who listens to little me.
I make a beeline for the door. "Aren't you having breakfast, young lady" my mom calls out.
"Nope, I'm running late already" I say giving her a pleading look.
She gives me a stern look "it isn't healthy to skip breakfast you know".
"Please mom I'll wake up early tomorrow in time for breakfast, I promise"
"Let her go honey, its gonna be the last time right darling" dad says giving me a pointed look.
"Yeah, last time" I say nodding eagerly.
"Fine" she concedes with a sigh "get a snack from the fridge though".
"Sure, mom" I say opening the fridge and taking a box of crackers. Stuffing it in my bag I dash out the door but not before calling out "have a good day".

I jog up the school stairs barely making it to my locker with a few minutes to spare. "Stupid people, how long does it take to get in a bus and they just had to start a fight" I grumble under my breath.
"What are you complaining about, grumpy".
I whip around to find Nate grinning widely at me. Placing a hand on where I assume my heart is, I give him a shove "are you nuts, don't scare me like that".
I collect the books needed for English class "aren't you supposed to be in English class, huh?".
"I wanted to be a great friend and wait for you" he says blinking innocently.
"Yeah, I totally believe that" I say sarcasm lacing my words.
"Now what's the real reason" I ask with my brows raised up as we begin to walk hurriedly towards the class.
"Fine, I didn't want to enter before you cause if I sit down, Camilla comes and takes the sit right by me, unless... I have a sitting partner.
" Why?" I ask confused.
"She seems to have the idea made up in her head that we are going to hook up and probably date, but honestly she gives me the creeps".
" Wow" I say as laughter bubbles out of me.
"Yup, and she doesn't seem to give up" he says with a grimace.
"Well don't worry, big sis is here for you" I say patting his shoulder with a smirk.
"Ha!" He says with an amused look "you're older than me by a month".
I shrug "still counts".
We enter the classroom barely making it with the teacher behind us. We take our seats and I pull out my writing materials.
We begin to take notes I am fully engrossed. Not that I love learning but I still want to pass my tests and exams.
"Pss, pssh, Hannah" Nate whispers. I ignore him as I aim to finish the last sentence but I am stopped by a rough nudge.
I rub my shoulder "what?" I ask with a scowl on my face.
He looks apologetic "sorry didn't mean to hit you that hard".
I sigh "sure, you're forgiven, what's up?".
He leans in closer "haven't you ever noticed the boy with the dark hair at the back with the big blue hoodie that keeps staring at you whenever he thinks you're not looking".
My eyebrows knit together "what?".
I whip around only barely able to catch brown eyes quickly dart away from my direction.
I stare a little, quickly observing the boy. A red tint covers his ears. For the few seconds I look at him, it quickly spreads down his cheek into his neck.
I turn around and look at Nate "I think he was staring at someone else".
I look at the person near me to find Lucy in the next seat "maybe Lucy, she's cute" I shrug.
He looks at me "it isn't the first time you know, I noticed it the last two English class but I wanted to confirm before bringing it to your attention".
"Whatever, cut it out. I still think it was Lucy" I reply.
"Sure" he says with a teasing smile "whatever you say".
