Chapter 1

The flight was horrible. Not because he was in pain the whole time, but also because his little daughter was quite fussy. She was too small to understand what was happening around her. Her timid voice was cute but after the eleven hour flight both were exhausted. And this was just the beginning. Hoang needed to take another flight from Sydney to Brisbane but he was too tired and burnt out for the day. He simply checked in a hotel and fell asleep on the hard bed as soon as they entered the room. Little Ju was a good girl and knew her mommy needed all the rest, so she slipped beside her tired and ashen mommy and snuggled with him until he would wake up.

And wake up he did. The next morning he profusely apologized to his daughter because he fell asleep without feeding her. To compensate for the crushing feeling of being a failure as a mother, he took her to a large and grand breakfast and dressed her in her cutest clothes.

The next flight was only one and a half hours long, nothing compared to the other one. While they were in the sky, Hoang told little Ju what they planned to do and let her repeat everything. His small bag on his shoulders and Ju's big suitcase in one hand, the tiny hand of his daughter in the other, they left the airport and shuffled into a taxi.

Now they were on foreign territory. Nothing Hoang ever was. The chinese omega was sweating in the blazing sun and he made sure the head of the love of his life was protected with a cute pale pink hat from the harsh sun.

The address they drove to was imposing and Hoang was not sure if that was the right call. But he had no other choice. The cellist from the Beijing Symphony Orchestra had no other family or very close friends he could count on to take care of his beautiful daughter. Because his time was clearly running out.

And the mansion in front of him was frightening. It signalled there was no other way. He didn't want to do it, he really didn't but in the end it was the only way to spare Ju from being put in an orphanage. His hand trembled as he lifted it, not ready to press the doorbell. Of course the trembling didn't go unnoticed. His daughter lifted her big brown eyes up to her mommy and asked, "Is everything okay, mama? Should we go back home?"

But Hoang shook his head. He did it for his daughter, not himself. She was more important than his life - literally. He pressed the doorbell, clutching the suitcase in a tight grip and waited for the door of doom to be opened.

Brett was in the backyard with his cute daughter Mei who was running wildly around, Momo on her tails, yipping loudly. They didn't hear the doorbell since all three of them were screaming in wild fun. Brett wiped his sweaty forehead as he sprinted after his insolent child.

"Come back Mei or Mommy will whip me! You should wear clothes when you run in the sun!"

Yes, his daughter was naked as the day she was born - albeit cuter with the long flowing hair behind her - and he knew, he knew Eddy would spank him or throw him out of the bedroom when Mei got a sunburn. So the man doubled down and caught his whirlwind. He twirled her around and both laughed. Now safely packed away, he stumbled back on the patio while his daughter squirmed and loudly screamed for her mommy for freedom.
