Chapter 2

Thursday came. And everything was set up. The whole house was almost bursting with people in a few minutes after Brett and Eddy would leave for the doctors check up. Brett took Eddy's hand and smiled at him.

"Are you ready for the last check up? Do you have everything? Wallet, baby, shoes?"

"How could I forget our baby, she's literally attached to me," Eddy scoffed then gently nudged him with his elbow. A small smile toyed on his face as he watched the alpha, the other man was very cute. Even if he told Brett that he wasn't cute anymore, the boy still was. So cute, "Yeah I'm ready and I have everything. Don't worry."

"Good. It would be horrible for you to leave behind the baby. We kinda need her for the check-up." Brett snorted. Of course Eddy could not even try to forget the baby, but it was fun to tease him anyway.

Brett bent down and helped Eddy in his shoes, which Brett tied. Eddy had enough to worry about now, so he would not let him do a gymnastics act to tie his shoes. After that, Brett slipped on his own shoes and helped Eddy up so they could get going. He even went as far as holding Eddy's arm when they walked down the flight of stairs to the underground garage.

As always, Brett opened the door and closed it. He shot Ray a quick text with only one word:

~Gone~

And off they were to the hospital.

Eddy was ready to go home, those checkups were tiring. He knew he needed them, especially with how danger prone he was but it would be nice to skip out on those things. It really would be. Alas he had to get them and soon he would be at home where he wanted to be. Maybe he would just cuddle into a bunch of blankets or drink warm tea on the couch. All seemed like good options to him.

Brett let nothing slip. Everything went according to plan it seemed. Eddy didn't even suspect a thing. When they were in the car he checked the phone again - and thankfully that was nothing out of the ordinary. Now he needed to give his mom and brother enough time to actually change and drive to his house.

"Eddy, are you okay if we stop at the violin shop for a second or so? I told you, I needed new strings and the shop texted me they did actually come in today. You know I order them from the United States and they are finally here." And this was not even a lie. He actually did that because he liked the brand so much. It always took ages for them to arrive and he dropped the hint a few days ago already, so Eddy wouldn't be suspicious.

"I promise, only the strings and then we are on our way to the house, okay?"

Brett smiled at his omega.

"Sure Bretty, violin is kinda your career and you need them," Eddy tried to be a bit more understanding of Brett because life wasn't all about the omega, so he wanted Brett to be able to take care of his needs too. And if that meant picking up violin strings when he was hella tired then so be it. He would just make himself cozy in the car.

"Just five min, okay, love? I will get you your favourite bubble tea, okay?" It was already waiting for Eddy at his home, so it would not be another five minutes detour.
