"Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, why?"
"You haven't stopped fidgeting since you sat down."
"Oh. I just haven't really been in a car in a while."
"Oh sorry, I forgot."
"It's fine."
"No it's not. It was stupid and careless of me. I'm sorry, Chris."
"It's okay. Just drive carefully. Don't make my mistakes."
He forces out a dry laugh.
"We're almost there if that helps."
He grabs her hand and says "I'm fine. I promise."
"Okay. We're here anyways."
They arrived at the In-N-Out drive-thru.
They ordered their food and she said "okay so now that we're done with that, we have a fifteen minute drive to our next stop, but only if you're fine with it."
"Yeah, I think I can handle that."
"Great."
As she drove, he held onto her hand tightly. Every few minutes she would reassure him that they were close.
When they arrived, she said "close your eyes."
"why?"
"just trust me."
She went behind him and led him out of the car.
She placed him in the perfect spot and said "okay now open them."
He opened his eyes and saw that they were on one of the highest points in SLC.
You could see the whole city from there. So, you could see all the lights on all the buildings.
It was beautiful.
"I love it."
