He really hadn't expected her family to go all out. They literally rented a ballroom.
They danced, ate and laughed.
There weren't many people their age, most being her moms' friends. At least she was allowed to invited one or two of her friends.
After a while, they slowed down the music, so he asked her to dance.
"My pleasure."
They began swaying softly.
"Nini"
"Ooh what's wrong? you never call me nini."
"Just. I know we haven't been dating for long. Hell we haven't even known each other long. But you make life seem less unbearable. So, I just wanted to say, i love you. And you don't have to say it back, I just wanted you to know."
Without answering, she bursts out laughing.
His eyes widen, and he stops in his place.
"Can you say something?"
"OH MY GOD, I'm living a real life 'the Fault in Our Stars.'
So.. which one of us is dying?"
"Seriously?!? I just told you I loved you and that's what you say?"
"Kidding. Kidding, Chris, just jokes."
"I love you too."
