I'm hoping that the rewrites become easier now, that the main points I wished to change are complete. The next few chapters will mostly be a POV change more than anything.

Two weeks after Stefan's birthday bodies were found again on the road. Rowan, hadn't expected Anna to slip this easily after losing Ben. The witch grew curious to see if Anna would turn Logan Fell sooner. She had initially used him to expose the Salvatores and to drive them out of Mystic Falls, to safely pursue the tomb. However, with Rowan's presence and knowledge, things won't be so simple.

The Council had requested the Gilbert watch like Originally. Rowan discussed the matter with Jeremy, as calmly as possible. He argued that it belonged to him and Rowan agreed but she asked to borrow it. The younger sibling was hesitant but he hardly refused a request from Rowan, so eventually he agreed. Sadly for the Council, the witch had removed the spell on the compass, long ago. It now only pointed to the person you desire. Romantically. It was an idea the witch got from Captain Jack Sparrow's compass in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Nevertheless, she handed the compass to the mayor. The arrow surprisingly didn't point to Carol, causing Rowan to hold back a chuckle. Instead it had pointed to Liz. That was even funnier in the witch's mind. "This doesn't make sense, it's not working," said the Mayor as it kept point to Liz. They checked her using vervain and she was obviously fine.

"Maybe it broke due to its age and possible rusting," suggested Rowan. The Council members sighed in defeat and gave back the watch.

"How will we find the vampire now?" Asked Logan Fell. He was still human but Rowan had an inclining that it won't be for long. Damon suggested patrolling the area with the help of Rowan.

"I'm sure Rowan and I are capable of finding them. We found out about the bartender," said the vampire.

"I think Damon is right, it's worth a shot for them to patrol. Maybe the vampire will slip," said Liz.

"I'm in," said Rowan with a shrug.

"So it's settled, Rowan and Damon will be responsible for finding them," said the Mayor begrudgingly. He never likes Rowan's capability, mostly cause her entire family outshined his. Grayson and Miranda have always been loved by the town's people, while their children were all smart and capable individuals. Tyler on the other hand, was lazy and chased after the wrong thing, in the mayor's eyes.

The next morning was Monday and Rowan drove her siblings to school. When she dropped them off, she sensed an extra supernatural presence, other than Stefan. She speculated that it was Anna but didn't vocalise this to her siblings. She wished to let the girl be a little more carefree and let her guard down even more. This way, Rowan can catch her off guard easier. So the witch drove off.

The week saw no progress in Rowan and Damon's search for the vampire. But there were also no more dead bodies. Rowan was patient, the more she pushed things further the more time she had to prepare. Anna's stalling worked in the witch's favour. However, Rowan wasn't stupid either, she knew that Logan Fell will be turned and Anna's boy toy would start to stalk Elena. Logan was easy to deal with, the boy toy was more tricky.
