Book 1/?
Lila Stone has a tragic car accident and ends up dying. Instead of waking up in the afterlife, she finds herself reborn in the body of Rowan Gilbert. The none existing, eldest Gilbert sibling and she's a little different.
Due to her past-l...
Last chapter we left in a rather terrible place. Rowan is dead, the Mikaelson brothers are left with Sofie and Celeste. Who killed our dear old Rowan and why? Btw thank you for all the feedback, it's so amazing and I'm so flattered.

Rowan blinked her eyes open and got up quickly from the floor. At first she had no idea what was going on, that was until she spotted the Mikaelsons and the two witches, in a frenzy. The Gilbert followed their gazes and to her shock, found her actual body still on the floor. Rowan had actually died and was now likely trapped on the other side. In other words purgatory. The witch didn't have much time to process or panic though, as suddenly, she felt a leering gaze from the side. Rowan turned toward the source and gasped in utter shock. Before she could utter a single word in response though, she began feeling excruciating pain run up her arm. The witch screamed in agony as she felt her hands getting slashed and tearing open. Although she was dead, feeling pain was still possible.
"Stop please! Why are you doing this!" Rowan cried out desperately, in between screeches of pain. The woman ignored her and continued the torture. Rowan thought the pain would never end. The more she tried to fight it the stronger it hurt. Her arms, legs and stomach were being sliced open. Her bones were getting cracked as a werewolf's would during the full moon. Rowan gazed through blurry vision and gasped loudly, as she spotted her true body getting the same treatment. It was terrifying to say the least. The witch had tears rolling down her face and her mouth was open in ugly screams.
Unable to think properly, she tried to focus on something else, hoping she could dissociate a little from the agony. She chose to concentrate on the thought of her body. It was getting slashed the same way and her bones seemed to be breaking from it too. That made no sense to Rowan. Which meant she either wasn't completely dead and leading to the torture affecting both bodies. Or this witch hated her enough to inflict damage on both. "Please stop! Why, why?" Rowan screamed again, hoping to reason with her. Rowan prayed for it to stop, she even tried reaching for her magic but her body wasn't responding. It was preoccupied with feeling pure pain.
After what felt like hours but was likely a few minutes, the pain seized. Rowan's vision was blurry, her mouth was filled with blood. Her body was aching and bleeding, while her head felt like it'd explode. "This is what awaits you, if you insist on breaking that curse!" The torturer finally spoke, her eyes were cold and her face was constricted in an ugly scowl. Rowan hissed as her wounds began to heal slowly. The only benefit of being on the other side is you cannot die again. Rowan gathered all her strength and began getting up again, blood seeping from her.
"Why?" she hiccuped, hoping to reason with the other witch.
"I have spent a thousand years, feeling the pain of every victim of my children's. I will not allow you to release a more awful beast into the world," she screeched. Her voice was full of malice and her face was the stuff of horror movies. Eyes wide and glaring, jaw clenched to the point it seemed that her teeth would break. Her lips spread in a square, unflattering form, showing said teeth.
