Rowan stood frozen as she gazed at the gorgeous, yet extremely dangerous woman. On the inside Rowan was screaming, "why is she here? How is she alive? Why is Elijah with her?" However, she couldn't show that on her face. The Gilbert's mind was trying to shake her back to reality but her body was unmoving. She could see that the partners shared a look of concern. "Hello, it's nice to meet you Rowan, Elijah has told me a lot about you," the NOLA-witch said, with her sultry voice and French accent. Rowan could finally get air into her lungs, she smiled tightly as she reached a hand out to the woman.
"Nice to meet you too, he's told you good things I hope." Rowan's voice was strained as she spoke and her body was shaking a little. The aftereffect of shock and panic caused her to shake and feel nauseas. As Celeste and Rowan shook hands, their magic reached for one another. Rowan gasped a little and couldn't help but glare at Celeste, the NOLA-witch's power was immense. How was it fair that a woman who possessed innocent witches, got to keep that power? The woman also appeared to be startled by Rowan's magic. The Gilbert wasn't surprised by the reaction, as according to Gloria and grams, Rowan had more power than most witches her age.
"Yes, yes all good things," Celeste whispered thoughtfully. Rowan furrowed her brows sceptically but didn't question it.
"So, how do you like Mystic Fall?" Rowan asked with a fake smile. Thankfully the question led to a normal conversation. As the witches continued to chat, bypassing the subject of each other's magic, Elijah got dragged by Alaric and Damon to have a separate conversation. Rowan stiffed when she was left alone with the woman.
"May we speak in private?" Celeste asked. It took a moment for Rowan to realise the witch was speaking French. Rowan knew how to speak the language but wasn't sure why Celeste had thought she might. The Gilbert nodded carefully, gazing at Celeste pointedly. The NOLA-witch smiled and walked toward the gardens. Rowan followed with her guard up. The sun was still high up and the breeze of spring was nice. The flowers had bloomed, so the scene was beautiful. "Do you know why we are here?" Celeste asked, her tone serious and expression sour.
"No, Mr Elijah only said he had witch business," replied the younger.
"I have had a rough life Rowan," Celeste admitted, causing Rowan to fight back a snort. Celeste wasn't possessing anyone currently, which was a relief. "I was born back in the late 1700s, learned and trained with my coven," the older witch went on to tell a little of her story. It was mainly her struggle in the French Quarter as a witch. Considering at the time, the area wasn't stable. The Originals were at war with the local government, as well as the witches and werewolves. It was a feud as old as time, for survival and the power to rule. Celeste began telling stories of her lost coven members and her interaction with the Originals.
