That evening Rowan headed to the house where Elijah and Celeste resided. The witch wasn't the biggest fan of knowing the two were in the same living vicinity. It was mainly due to the fact that she preferred to keep Celeste in the dark regarding some things. Like Elena being the doppelgänger. Rowan was sure if the NOLA-witch discovered this factor, she'd stick her nose and ruin everything. Rowan wasn't about to have her well thought out plans, the ones she'd been working on for years, ruined by an old vindictive witch. Rowan arrived at the small house on the edge of town. The woman parked her car and exited the vehicle and approached the house. The mailbox mentioned a Mrs Green. Rowan guessed the owner was an older woman with no direct family. It was easier to move into houses of elderly people, pretending to be relatives or renters.

Rowan rang the door bell and waited. Seconds later the door opened and Elijah greeted the witch with a wide smile. "Good evening Rowan," he said and the woman smiled back.

"Good evening Mr Elijah, may I come in?" she said and the man moved to the side to grant her entrance. Rowan entered and they walked along a small corridor and through the door on the left. It lead to a small living room, similar in size to the Gilberts' one but the furniture was a bit older and less organised. There were two chairs facing a fireplace, with a loveseat in a corner and another sofa in another corner. Rowan gazed at Elijah, asking permission to sit. The Original gestured for her to pick any seat she liked. Rowan sat on one of the chairs and waited for the man to join her. Elijah took the other seat and faced the witch.

The two sat in silence for a few moments, neither wishing to break the comfortable silence and speak of the tense topics. Finally Elijah released a sigh and spoke, "Nik, should be arriving in half an hour or so." Rowan inhaled a sharp breath, the realisation of Niklaus's arrival and its meaning finally hit the witch. She bit her lip and rung her hands together, to stop her flight response from taking over.

"That's good. Let's discuss how we're going to approach him with our deal," Rowan whispered, gazing at her hands.

"Forgive me Rowan, but I wouldn't really call it our deal," the Original spoke. Rowan whipped her head to face him and stared in shock. What did that mean? The man sighed again, "Elena is your sister and your concern. Forgive me but I didn't wish to involve myself in this matter, however, I made a deal with you to ask for her survival. That is all, I do not plan on arguing or negotiating with my brother for her freedom. That falls solely on you." Rowan bit her lip harder, she knew that, she'd specifically stated that she only wanted Elijah to ask and she'd handle the negotiations. However, some small part of her had hoped for a stronger support.

The witch thought on her plan for a little bit and sighed, "I suppose that's on me. I didn't fight harder to have you agree for me," she said.

"Even if you'd argued harder, I wouldn't have budged. This is a delicate matter for my family and I do not wish to compromise our relationship for it," the Original explained with a hint of bitterness in his tone. This proved to Rowan that he did in fact care but preferred to keep his family relations in tact rather than fight over one human. Rowan gazed at him sympathetically, knowing he'd blamed himself for most of the loss he'd suffered by Niklaus and his other siblings.
