Jacob sighs as he walks into the NICU. Softly stroking his boyfriend's cheek with the back of his hand, he kneels down beside him, "Hey, Sleeping Beauty, wake up."

Troye's eyes open slowly and he looks at Jacob for a moment before remembering where he is and instantly looking over at the sleeping girl next to him.

"She's okay," Jacob whispers. "But you're not supposed to be in here, TroTro. It's past hours and you need rest."

"I was just..." Troye points to Bailey and fades off.

"I know. I know, babe, I miss her too. But it's important that both of you rest right now. You both need to heal a bit before you're ready to go home."

"I don't wanna leave her," Troye mumbles.

"I don't either, honey. But she needs to sleep. Just like you. We'll come back first thing in the morning after you're well-rested, yeah? How's that sound? Both of you will be well-rested and full on some breakfast and ready to hang out?"

Troye sighs and nods making Jacob smile.

The boys slowly make their way back to Troye's room nurses giving them looks as, by now, they're used to seeing them walking away from the NICU after hours.

It wasn't the first time Troye's escaped his room to see his daughter over the last few days. Jacob didn't blame him, but he knew they had to respect the hospital policy.

Carefully laying down in bed, Troye grabs his boyfriend's hand, "Jakie?"

"What, baby?"

"Will you lay with me?"

"Of course, honey."

Walking around to the opposite side of the bed to avoid the cords and wires, Jacob lies in bed next to the blond who immediately clings to his side.

"I don't know if we're supposed to do this, but-"

"I don't care, Jacob. If I can't have my daughter by me, I at least want my boyfriend."

Jacob doesn't argue. He presses a kiss to Troye's head, "Go to sleep. I love you."

"I love you, Joshua."

Troye sighs as he takes a bite of his pancakes. Jacob sits next to him in his designated chair and watches Family Guy playing on the TV.

"I'm done."

Jacob looks at his boyfriend's plate and sighs, "You're not done. You barely ate anything."

Troye shrugs.

"I know you wanna see Bailey, but you have to eat, honey."

Troye pouts, "Fine."

Troye takes another bite, continuing to pout.

Suddenly the door is pushed open and a nurse and doctor walk in.

"Good morning, guys, how are we doing?"

"Good, thanks," Jacob says before Troye has a chance to speak.

"Good. I have good news and fantastic news. Which would you like to hear first?"

"Fantastic news," Troye says quickly through a mouthful of food.

The doctor smiles, "You will be able to hold your daughter today."

Troye gasps, almost choking on his breakfast, and turns to look at Jacob with a wide grin.

"The good news is," the doctor continues, "you will be getting your stitches out today."

"We'll take your stitches out first and after we know you're okay, we'll go see Miss Bailey."

Troye grins widely as he's laid back in the hospital bed, his breakfast pulled to the side.

His gown is pulled up to his midsection and he turns to look at Jacob as the healthcare providers begin to work on him.

"Jakie, we can hold her," Troye whispers giddily.

"I know, baby I heard."

"D-do you wanna hold her first or do you want me to?" Troye asks, his grins fading softly as he looks down at Jacob's hands and plays with them.

Jacob grins, knowing full well Troye only asked to make it seem like he could keep his calm, "You can hold her first if you want."

The blond's grins returns quickly, "Yay! I mean...that's cool."

"You are so bad at covering up emotions," Jacob chuckles.

"I'm excited, I actually get to hold my daughter."

Jacob's smile drops, "Don't cry."

"Too late!" Troye squeaks as happy tears drip down his cheeks.

Jacob laughs, tears filling his own eyes as he presses his forehead against Troye's.

The nurse smiles at them before going back to removing Troye's stitches.
