The night was unsettling for Emma. She didn't dare fall 'asleep'. What if she heard the mice again? And, why was that even a dream? She tried to think nothing of it. She started her book, and read half way through it. But it was no help. Not even a tiny bit sleepier. Not like she was aiming to be asleep anyways. The moon wasn't  peering through the curtains either, which unsettled her even more. It also made her sad.

The night was going slow. But Emma found a way to not bore herself to death. She would click her tongue to the tone of the clocks around the house. Which made her more hyper, which is a bad thing. The rain hadn't stopped at night. The empty streets were poured on, drains filled and plants fed like new-borns. The luminescent French pastry lay high in the sky, but wasn't as vibrant as always.

While she listened into the rain. She felt herself drifting away. Which she currently wanted. Her adventurous side took over wanting to see the fake world that lets her enter. So she drifted away, where she heard the same loud banging noise, from the kitchen. So she jumped out of bed, ready to see several mice making a noise. But she was wrong. She saw a deer. That must have broke the window to get in. Standing in the kitchen, hitting random pots and pans. Emma stood there in utter disbelief. How can that happen? Is this my dream? She thought her dream could help her escape the questions. Buts it just created more. She couldn't take the constant voice in her head. So she scrunched up into a ball and screamed. Chasing the deer away and causing her to wake up with a jumping heart. It was still night. Midnight. She felt like she just got the biggest scare of her life. But she was too tired to sleep. So she just collapsed back into bed closing her tired eyes.
