Moments ago, I had gotten off the phone with my uncle who was telling me that he would come up with a plan soon enough and let me know what we should do about this guy wanting to seek revenge on me.
Right now though, I was not going to think about it and ruin tonights fun at Bingo with Maureen and Annie.
After arriving to their house and started walking inside, I immediately noticed that both Maureen and Annie looked as though they had been crying.
"What's going on?" I asked. "Did I miss something?"
"Nothing. Just had a good little talk here." Maureen says with a smile as she tucks Annie's hair behind one of her ears.
"Okay..." I said, not completely convinced.
"I just got done telling her about my ex." Annie says.
I felt relieved that she did but didn't want Maureen to know I found out before her (just as Annie and I had discussed and agreed upon before). So I played dumb.
"Oh?...And what about him? Should I be worried?" I asked raising an eyebrow at Annie.
"No." Maureen rolls her eyes in reply.
"Alright. Well, are you girls almost ready then for the Bingo game tonight?" I asked to try and change the subject and before noticing they were preparing food.
"Yeah. I am. I was just helping Nana prepare some ingredients for tonight's dinner after Bingo." Annie smiled.
I walk up to her and place a kiss on those beautiful seductive soft lips of hers before next leaning over and giving Maureen a kiss on the cheek and a hug as I always greet her.
"You two should go tonight. I'm gonna stay in and finish this up." Maureen states.
Annie and I both looked at each other bewildered. This woman never skips a Bingo night.
"But you always go." I mention.
"Yes well, I can afford to miss a night of Bingo or two." She fires back all feisty.
"Yeah, but people are gonna start talkin'." I say.
"Pff..."She starts while waving her hand at me. "They gonna talk about others no matter what."
Annie and I both laugh a little bit.
"Well, what about tonight's dinner? Want me to help finish chopping?" Annie asks.
"No. You both go out and I will actually save these for tomorrow nights dinner instead. You both eat out." She suggests with a wink and smiles at us both.
"Okay." I replied.
"You sure?" Annie asks one last time.
"I'm sure. Now you both go out and have some fun." She smirks.
We both begin to head out towards my truck after telling her 'bye' and both felt a little bad but then we both knew that on the other hand, we knew better than to push anything out of Maureen to share. So we left it alone and just started heading towards the Bingo Hall.
After arriving, grabbing a few snacks and some drinks, along with several bingo cards for each of us, we took a seat off to the right side of the room that is up against the wall located in the middle row.
So many times, Annie would be one number or two numbers away from claiming Bingo but someone always beat her to it before she got a chance to. But we still were having fun.
Who would have thought I would ever be playing Bingo. I mean, it's not my favorite thing to do, but I don't mind. Since there isn't too much else to really do in a small town here. Besides, Annie seemed to be enjoying herself.
Once we were through with a few games, there was an intermission/break for ten minutes.
I had gotten to grab us some more drinks and to throw away our trash as well before heading back.
There were only a few more games left and while on the last one, it seemed like Annie was going to win this time.
Then a number is called and it's one of hers and now she has only one more number to go but then we hear some guy from the back call out 'Bingo!'
Right when we both look to see who said it, her face immediately went pale and she looked panicked a little bit.
"What's the matter?" I asked before taking another look at the few men sitting at the table before I realized I had never seen them here before and then by the look on her face, I started to ask her.
"Do you know them?" I ask her.
She nods her head in reply, "Yes."
"Are you okay?" I ask her.
"I'll be okay. Just please, don't make a scene." She tells me.
"Okay." I reassure her.
I had a gut feeling tell me that these guys worked for Danny.
I swear though, all I can think about right here in this moment is beating them and sending their 'boss' a message.
But I promised her I wouldn't create a scene. Yet, I move her closer towards me with my arm around her waist and as I kissed the top of her head I glared at the men who seemed to have been glaring right back too.
They may be dressed like they are from around here, but they aren't.
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
