I could tell that Todd was tense and had noticed him glaring at the guys.

Why was this happening to me? Why can't I just live a normal life or something close to it? Why can't Danny just move the fuck on and forget about me?

Luckily the game was over quickly and we ended up leaving early and missing out on the last couple of games.

While walking out towards the truck, right when he opens up the door for me, he has me look at him.

"You okay?" He asks.

"Yeah. I'll be fine." I smiled in return at him then gave him a kiss before hopping up into the truck and right before he shut the door, we heard the same voice of the guy who shouted out 'BINGO!' moments ago inside.

We both look and see the guy and his men standing at a stance looking at us and grinning.

"That's it." Todd remarks but I stop him as he gets ready to turn and walk up towards them.

"Don't!" I stop him. "Just get in the truck and let's get the hell out of here." I suggest.

He takes in a deep breath before turning and getting into the driver's side then starts up the truck and starts to back out and drive off.

I could tell by his knuckles turning white from gripping onto the steering wheel so tightly that he was upset and most likely at me for not letting him fight those men.

I didn't mean to hurt his ego, but I seriously just don't want to deal with any of it. I have seen those men before and the horrific things they are capable of doing.

I couldn't take the silence anymore, so I finally broke it.

"I'm sorry." I apologize to him.

"For what?" He asks in a calming way.

"I know how you guys like to fight other guys and I stopped you from doing it, but..." I started to explain but then he stopped me.

"Ha! I'm not upset with you for that. I am only upset at the fact that they had the nerve to show up here and think they can try to intimidate you along with putting fear in your eyes." He tells me.

"I know it's weak of me to allow them to have that kind of power over me still but, when you've seen what I have...." I started to say but was stopped as soon as I noticed he was looking in the rearview mirror behind us.

"Hold on." Was all I heard from him next and then before I could say anything, he immediately made a sharp turn into the woods and to be honest, I was freaked the hell out.

There were trees everywhere and he seemed to be driving on this dirt road that looks as though it leads to nowhere, as if he knew it like the back of his hand.

He kept going faster and swerving and maneuvering through the woods as I right away knew we were being chased and he was trying to ditch them.

"Oh my god." Was all I said under my breath.

"Don't worry, their cars can't keep up with this truck and this road alone will tear the shit out of their tires." He chuckled.

Suddenly, I was feeling excited that this was happening and looking at him sort of looking like he was having fun and driving the way he did as if he were a stunt driver or even driving in a Nascar race.

I was a bit impressed to be honest at how great he was doing and not hitting one tree. Then moments later when checking behind us, their car headlights became more and more distant u til they vanished.

"Oh my god, I can't believe we just did that." I smiled.

"Told ya." He replies.

We continue driving on the dirt road a while longer until we turn and head down another one and take it down a ways until we pull up to a small one story house that was in decent shape.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"This is my place. My 'secret' place. You showed me yours and I want to show you mine." He smiles at me before giving me a kiss, getting out and opening the door for me.

"I like it." I smiled.

"I'm glad. Because you're the only person who knows about this place." He tells me and my heart flutters.

I feel so special!!
