There were so many things happening at once but I am glad we will finally soon be rid of all this drama.
My Uncle came up with a way to have the meeting and to try and make it sound to where we will be there. However, we won't necessarily-at least not visible to them.
He has made it to be where both Danny and Leison believe that they both have the diamonds and since Danny wants to do business anyways with Leison, he thinks it's a win win.
Now, of course we aren't putting our guards down entirely and is why we are going to be watching afar just in case, so we shall see what happens.
While we all started trying to get ready for tonight, we were sitting down in the living room and making sure our weapons were all set, including our guns being loaded.
Annie expressed to me last night that she never fired a gun before, so earlier this morning I had her practice and I have to admit that for somebody who has never shot before, she sure did hit the targets and get the hang of it very quickly.
As we all sat around and waited for the time to come where we all left, Annie broke the little bit of the awkward silence we all were having.
"So what's the story with you and Barron?" She asks her Nana.
We all stop and look at the both of them.
"We used to be together. In fact, we both met each other when we were twenty-two. Like I said before, I had a different life. I was a different person." She chuckles a little to herself before sitting down in a chair and continuing.
"I was mixed up with the wrong people at the age of fifteen and became so desperate to make money to save the ranch. My parents were struggling and close to selling. I knew I couldn't let that happen and so I became involved with someone who taught me many things. Such as how to fight and how to steal VERY expensive things, undetected." She stops and I can tell she is fighting back tears.
"It's alright." My Uncle comforts her with his hand on her shoulder.
"No. I need to tell someone." She assures him.
"It took only a couple of weeks on a job that the man gave me and I was able to give the money to my parents. But when I came home, I was right away greeted with their lifeless bodies on the floor, face down. I didn't know why or who it was-at least not until later." She stops herself for a moment before from finishing up.
"I found out that a man who I had seen for a few years that my parents would always fear, he wanted the ranch, but they always told him 'no'. Then one day he returned and killed them. So I took that moment in making sure that he paid. But the man practically owned all of the police force and justice system, therefore, leaving it up to me. So I did what I had to do. Not saying I'm proud of it, but from then on I never left this ranch have been protecting it ever since, in any way needed."
We all are still in shock of what she just said but yet she still didn't answer the question.
"But how did you both meet?" I asked her.
She looks at Barron as he does her and they both lock eyes and smile at one another.
"I had stopped by in town and she was working at the diner. For a good couple of years I would stop by to see her." Barron began. "Until for a few more years, I wasn't able to and within that time, we lost touch."
"Then after I was finally able to reconnect with her again, it was too late. She had a child and that was that." He finishes with the look of 'guilt' on his face.
"Well, up until a few years ago. I finally found out information in his whereabouts and explained to him what had happened and that I had been waiting for him ever since he left. Not to mention, he saved me." She says.
They both smile and then lean in and give each other a passionate kiss on the lips.
Wow! That was not at all what Annie and I had thought. Deep down, although that is an interesting story, I was kind of hoping that it would have been more like a Bonnie and Clyde story. That was Annie's thought and I kind of liked it. But, their real story is better.
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
