After we all woke up and had some breakfast the next morning, it turned out that Todd's Uncle Barron had made some calls to people he knew and as we waited for them to come over, I couldn't help but notice my grandmother and Barron were laughing and talking to each other in the kitchen.
They looked almost like a couple who were rekindling something they had both somehow lost through the years.
It made me feel a little sad even. Just to know the idea of someone losing something as great as that. My grandmother deserves the best and had been through so much in her life, she deserves the happiness and her own Ever After.
Finally, we all saw out the window a few black cars come pulling up and I noticed immediately, that the men who came out of them, all looked to be dressed in nice expensive suits, along with nice shoes to match and had their hair slicked back.
Maybe it is too many movies I have seen or stories I have read, but I can't help but wonder, are they part of the Mafia or something?
I get up from the couch and am beginning to feel a little bit nervous for some reason. But thankfully I have Todd right here beside me and holding onto my hand.
The moment we answered the door and they started walking inside and introducing themselves, they actually seemed real nice and not at all what I had pre-judged seconds ago about them.
Then I heard them tell me what they did and turned out that they are (in a way), similar to the Mafia. Even though to me there is no 'almost', especially when they do similar things.
We all sat down around in the living room with Todd right beside me on the couch to begin going over the plan.
"So, how do you intend we handle this?" One of the gentlemen asked.
"Well, for starters, I already explained to you about Danny and the idea I had about introducing him and this guy who is after my nephew here. There is no doubt that he would go for it. And we all know Danny would love nothing more than to do business with this guy." Barron suggests.
"That's true." The guy who started the conversation, Drummond, mentions. "And forgive me for asking this, but what is her part in all of this?" He asks while looking at me.
Before anyone could answer, I just said something.
"I was dating him for a while and months ago had escaped from him. Or so I thought. Now he has found me and is coming for me." I mention.
"Why?" He asks.
"Because he wants her back!" Todd snaps at Drummond.
"There has to be another reason. Danny knows, just as his father I'm sure raised him to be, he knows he can have any girl he wants. But if he is after you and has sent his men to find you and they have, he only does that because you have something he wants." The guy points out.
I am confused as hell right now. I don't understand what he would want from me. I mean, Drummond has a point but I don't know what he could possibly want from me.
"I don't have anything he would want. If he is who you say he is, then I don't know what he could possibly want from me." I say genuinely.
Everybody is looking at me and I don't know what to say. Then I hear my Nana say something.
"Oh my God." She says.
We all look at her and Barron asks her what's wrong.
"What is it?" Barron asks.
"I can't believe I forgot." She says.
"What?" He asks her again.
"I can't believe I didn't realize this before. But, I think I know what he wants." She says then gets up and quickly heads upstairs, quicker than I have ever seen her then she hurries and runs back downstairs with a small vase that I had made in my pottery class when I was in middle school.
I can't believe she still kept it-it was terrible. Almost an eye sore, or at least that's my opinion.
We all look at her confused and then she walks in the middle of us and breaks it on the coffee table in the middle of the living room then moves the shattered pieces aside before picking up a small drawstring bag.
What the hell does she have in there that Danny would possibly want? And more importantly, who the hell is this woman even?!?
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
