"Jordan, if you're going to tell me to come to your house and you're not even there, I won't come next time. I don't have the keys!" Edgar said, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow at Jordan, sitting in the grass of his garden.
"You seem fine just sitting here making daisy chains." Jordan shrugged.
"Are you mocking me?" Edgar asked.
"Course not." Jordan grinned as he opened his front door.
"I'll have you know that making daisy chains is a craft I've had to hone for many years," Edgar argued, following Jordan into his house with a daisy chain at least half a metre long in his hands.
"Yeah, well, I have more important things to tell you," Jordan said.
"Possibly about where you've been all day?"
"Yes!"
"God, was it that exciting? What the hell happened?" Edgar asked.
"I-- Viv wanted to see me. And we're not getting back together, but I talked to her and I apologised to her for everything and--"
"Vivian King? Did she slap you or kick you or--"
"No! And I'm surprised she didn't! She said she was worried about me and we're fine now. But here's the best bit! She asked me to come to Ariel's birthday party in two days because she wanted to meet me! I'm gonna be a father! A proper father!" Jordan smiled.
"I-- you-- I'm coming with you," Edgar said.
"What?"
"I'm coming with you. It's my niece's half a decade birthday, I'm coming." Edgar decided.
"I'll have to ask Viv."
"Yes. You're going to ask Viv. Call her. Now. And tomorrow, we're going gift shopping!" Edgar declared.
"Oh-- right! I have no idea what to buy!" Jordan said.
"Then call Viv and tell her that the three of us are going shopping tomorrow. She knows her best, we might as well ask her. Come on!"
...
"Where is she...where is she?" Jordan mumbled impatiently.
"God, can't you let me wait in peace--"
"There she is!" Jordan semi-shouted, making Edgar perk up. She waved at them, making her way over to the two boys.
"Hey! If it isn't Thing One and Thing Two: Jordan and Edgar!" She smiled kindly.
"Hey, Viv." Jordan grinned.
"Hello, Vivian." Edgar smiled as Viv hugged them both with a giggle.
"Edgar, come on. I agreed not to call you Eddie and you agreed not to call me Vivian." Viv said.
"Fine. Viv. Does anyone call you by your full name? It's quite nice, actually." Edgar said.
"Yeah, you never explained why you hate your name so much," Jordan said.
"I don't hate the actual name, it's just that people, including me, don't say it in a way that sounds right. Except for my parents, they always said it a little differently and I don't even know how. Oh, and Loki." Viv said.
"Loki?" The brothers asked with a grin, making Viv blush.
"Y-yeah..." Viv trailed off as they walked around the mall.
