Loki's phone buzzed while he was in the middle of conversing with Viv, and he quickly checked it.
"Stark wants his kid back, thank god." Loki said.
"Morgan's a great kid!" Viv smiled.
"She's not bad. But the less time I spend with her, the less Stark can complain about me being a threat to her." Loki rolled his eyes.
"Do none of the Avengers trust you?" Viv asked.
"My brother does. And he's the only one who shouldn't." Loki said, and even though he sounded serious, Viv could see that he loved Thor so she chuckled a little.
"Well, maybe I'll come to the compound for work more often. Make that two people who trust you." Viv said, before briskly walking up to the girls. She crouched down and grinned at both girls.
"Time to go, okay? It's getting kinda late. Your dad wants you back, Morgan. And Ria, we gotta go see Auntie Kat. And Phee and Marsh and Gene." Viv listed.
"Gene?" Ria asked, tilting her head to the side.
"You told me he looked like a pirate." Viv said.
"Uncle Gene!" Ria nodded, now knowing who her mother was talking about.
"Who?" Loki asked.
"My siblings. Now, Morgan, you gotta go home. Ria, say bye-bye." Viv said.
"Bye-bye Morgan!"
"Bye-bye Ria!" The girls waved at each other although they were in close proximity.
"But Auntie Viv, what about your helmet?" Morgan asked, holding up the candy-filled helmet.
"Take it home. You can give it back to me when you go to my sister's costume party." Viv said.
"Okay!" Morgan agreed, and Viv stood up straight, a little close to Loki now. But she didn't move back, it didn't seem like he minded anyways.
"Oh, yeah, when I dropped by the compound a few days ago, I invited everyone to my sister's Halloween party tomorrow. You weren't there, but you've been invited. You can come if you want?" Viv asked.
"A costume party?" Loki asked.
"Uh, yeah. But if you wear what you have on now, you'll fit right in." Viv assured him, and Loki saw her pleading eyes.
"I'll probably get dragged there with the rest of them anyways." Loki scowled, and Viv took it as a positive response.
"Great! I'll, uh, see you there." Viv said.
"Why not?" Loki said, a hint of a smirk adorning his face.
"Okay. Yeah, yeah, okay. Bye Morgan! Bye Loki. Say bye, Ria." Viv said.
"Bye-bye Mr Loki." Ria said, and Loki just nodded at the little girl.
"Goodbye Ariel. Goodbye Vivian." Loki said, and Vivian nodded, turning on her heel and walking away, holding Ria's hand.
Thinking she was out of hearing range, she punched the air and cheered, saying 'yes!' as Ria looked at her mother confusedly and Loki smiled at Vivian's back.
"Come on, Morgan, Stark's probably throwing a tantrum."
...
Viv and Ariel made it to Kat's house, where everyone else already was. The Kings had a little tradition for Halloween, ever since the Terrible Trio were kids and it had since spread to Ophelia, Eugene, and now Ariel.
"Auntie Kat!" Ria said, running up to the tall, raven haired woman.
"Hello Ria!" She cooed, speaking in a gentle babyish voice just to tease the little girl. Eugene stood behind Kat, pretending to not notice the girl. It's not that he didn't like her, he just didn't really know her. Strange, seeing as she was his own niece.
