"Uh, Loki?" Viv asked, and the man turned to her, walking over.
"Vivian! Thank the Allfather I found you, are you alright?" Loki asked uncharacteristically.
"Yeah, I'm fine, what are you--"
"Oh good, you found her and she's fine, let's go," Tony said, him and Thor appearing behind Loki and beginning to drag him away.
"What?" Viv asked.
"So this is the Rat King. He's sort of handsome in person."
"Edgar!" Jordan scolded.
"Rat King?" Loki asked.
"Oh, that's you because you tried to rule New York, don't worry about it. What is going on, why are you here?" Viv asked.
"Well, I--"
"He was worried your ex kidnapped you or killed you," Thor said.
"I was not worried," Loki confirmed.
"Sure you weren't, Reindeer Games, now let's go," Tony said.
"How did you even find me?" Viv asked.
"Loki forced Stark to track you down," Thor said.
"Yeah, he was soooo worried about you, he was pacing and panicking and everything," Tony said.
"I was not!" Loki reiterated.
"No, Stark, he's right, Loki wasn't worried about you, Viv." Thor nodded, making Loki and Tony look at him with confusion in their eyes. Was he agreeing with Loki?
"He was jealous." Thor grinned.
Nope.
"I was not!" Loki glared at Thor and then turned back to Viv while smoothing down his clothing.
"Sorry about that. Are you sure you're alright?" Loki asked kindly before staring at Jordan and Edgar, unsure which one was the ex and who the other was.
"I'm fine, Lo. And you might wanna take a step back, people are taking pictures." Viv laughed.
"Oh, uhm, right. Sorry." Loki said shyly, taking a small step back and leaving some space between him and Viv.
"That's okay." Viv smiled.
"Oh, right! This is Jordan Groves, my ex, don't worry, we're cool now. And his brother, Edgar." Viv smiled.
"Hey."
"Hello." Jordan and Edgar waved and Loki blinked a couple times before nodding nonchalantly at them and looking at Viv again.
"Yes, hello. Are you sure you're alright? Where's Ria?" Loki asked.
"I promise, I'm okay. And Ria's at home, with Kat and Gene, probably watching Meet The Robinsons for the fiftieth fucking time. Don't worry about it, okay?" Viv said, and Loki felt himself melting at her soft smile.
"Alright," Loki said, before Thor groaned, ruining the moment.
"Good, can we go now?" Thor asked.
"Yes. Fine." Loki hissed, before the three men said goodbye (mostly to Viv) and started to walk away.
"Bye Rat King!" Edgar beamed with a cheery, over-exaggerated wave.
"Edgar!" Jordan and Viv scolded him.
"What?"
...
Soon enough, all the Avengers and Viv's family, excluding Ria and Viv, were gathered outside a fancy function room, curious as to what was on the other side of the door.
"So, what are we doing here again?" Bucky asked.
"Viv told us to come here," Sam said.
"This early? Cap doesn't even start his morning runs at this hour." Tony yawned.
"It's 7, Tony. And I do." Steve retorted.
"I was exaggerating and it's still too early. But, if it's for Ria, I'm willing to do whatever Viv says." Tony said.
"Sorry we're late, guys," Viv said, speed walking towards the group with Jordan and Edgar hot on her heels.
"You're only two minutes late, Viv. Who're they?" Wanda asked.
"This is Jordan and Edgar Groves, Ria's father and uncle. And no hard feelings, everything is fine between us so you better get along or it's your ass." Viv said, scaring pretty much everyone with her intense gaze.
"Good! Okay, as you know, you're all here for Ria's birthday party, and she's currently with Pep and Morgan at the compound, so we have more or less five hours to get everything set up. I tried to do most of it myself so there'd be less prep today, so it shouldn't take too long." Viv explained.
"Okay, great, but prep what?" Marshall asked.
"Ah. Ah! That is where I open this door in an overdramatic fashion and you all marvel at what I've done." Viv nodded, handing the clipboard in her hands to Jordan before pushing open the fancy doors and showing everyone what Ria's birthday party was gonna look like.
"Holy shit, you're a really crazy mom."
"I know and fuck you."
