Here's a pic of Kai's kitchen when clean ^^
Kai's POV
What was that! My eyes shoot open as I struggle to figure out what noise woke me. I slip on my fluffy unicorn slippers and a fluffy turquoise cardigan and follow the sound. "Raz..." is all I can whisper when I see the mess in the kitchen.
A glass bowl lays shattered on the floor by the kitchen island. What looks like an entire bag of flour is covering the counter and spilling onto the floor. A cracked egg is on the stove, dripping onto the tiles and half a bottle of maple syrup is emptying itself into the sink. Raziel is fluttering around the stove trying to put out the fire that is trying to jump from the pan.
I quickly rush to the stove and slide a lid over the pan and turn off the stove. Then I turn to face Raziel who is wearing a guilty look.
"Stupid human technology," Raziel mumbles, not making eye contact with me.
"Raziel," I say in a scolding manner trying to suppress my smile at how cute he looks when flustered.
His head shoots up and he wears a look of panic when he starts gushing, "my stomach was rumbling! I wasn't trying to set fire to the house! I saw you make breakfast yesterday and I was certain I could make it as well but nothing did what I wanted it to do! I swear I didn't mean to destroy the kitchen!"
Raziel ducks his head when he's finished rambling, fiddling with his fingers.
He's nervous! There's a nervous angel standing in front of me! He is so cute!
A mischievous smile spreads across my face. "Wait here, don't touch anything," I say as sternly as I can muster.
I rush upstairs and quickly wash my face and brush my teeth then I hurry back to the kitchen.
When I return Raziel is still standing next to the stove trying to look everywhere but at my face.
"Raziel," I start and watch as worry rushes over him and his eyes finally land on mine. Trying incredibly hard to contain my amusement, I continue, "You really made a mess and I'm willing to forgive you on one condition."
"Yes! What is it?" Raziel asks enthusiastically.
A tiny giggle escapes me before I compose myself. "One kiss and I'll forgive you." I tap my puckered lips for emphasis.
Yesterday Raziel let me snuggle with him and when I intertwined our hands, he didn't pull away; he didn't even appear to be tense! I also caught him staring at my lips! So I definitely think he's interested in me! I think suggesting this kiss is the little push he needs so he'll act on his feelings.
Raziel's eyes widen and he stares incredulously at me for a split second before he blurts out "You can't be serious, human."
The mischievous glint in my eyes dies and my heart sinks when I hear the disdain in his voice. If he hates the idea that much, why would he let me touch him so often!
My breath hitches as I realize why he let me hug him and cling to him yesterday.
Pity.
He pitied me. I told him, the pink star, everything there is to know about my lonely life so he knows how much I've missed physical affection all these years.
"Kai-" Raziel starts but stops when I turn away from him.
I bend down to pick up the larger pieces of the broken bowl, forcing down the onslaught of tears threatening to breach the dam. I need to clean up the kitchen and make food for Raziel. He must have been hungry if he tried to make breakfast.
