Here is a reminder of what Raziel's seal looks like ^^
Kai's POV
I grin and squish Gabriel into a tight hug. "Thank you for letting me see my mom and for checking on Declan while I was here with Raz!"
Gabriel hugs me back and when he releases me, he smiles and says, "I was happy to help."
Last night, while I was sleeping, Raziel met up with Gabriel to ask him if I could visit my mom and check to see how Declan was doing. Gabriel readily agreed to both since he already visited earth during the night to check on Declan and he went again this morning. He was also in the process of setting up a meeting for my mom and I.
This morning when I met up with my mom, she explained that some souls have the option of being reincarnated so that they can put more good into the world. She said that she chose to do that the moment she knew Raziel was in love with me because she was sure that I was in good hands.
She, however, wanted to say goodbye to me before she left, and Gabriel promised to help her before she was transferred from his division to the Reincarnation Division. His initial plan was to give me a very vivid dream where we would be able to interact, but when I started talking to him about helping Lance, he realised that I was the same Kai and held off on that plan so I could see her when I visited Heaven with Raziel.
The visit with my mom could not have gone better. The two of us ate breakfast in my childhood home while chatting about everything under the sun. She doted on me the entire time and kept hugging me and singing me praises.
Later in the day, we prepared lunch and I introduced her to Raziel. The two of them hit it off and that filled my heart with more joy than I thought possible. Before we left, she told me how much she loved me and how proud she was of the person I'd become.
Of course I'm a little sad that my mom is leaving and that I won't be able see her again, but I'm happy for the time I got to spend with her and that I got to give her a proper send-off. I also know that even though I'll miss her, I have people in my life who love me and care about me and will be there for me whenever I need them.
My eyes drift over to one of those people and he ruffles my hair before he wraps his arm around my waist. "You ready to go, Little Light?"
I smile at Raziel and nod, snuggling into his side before my attention returns to Gabriel. "Will we see you soon?"
"Of course!" He releases a tiny giggle. "I'll visit whenever I can."
"That will probably be often since I think a certain demon might miss you if you stay away for too long," Raziel teases, and Gabriel giggles and glances away as a faint blush graces his cheeks.
We hug Gabriel one more time, and I scoop up Snow Cone from the ground while Raziel grabs the basket of golden fruit. I cradle the creature between us and Raziel wraps me in his embrace.
He releases his powerful pink wings, and I know I'll never tire of seeing their beauty. He flaps them once and Heaven fades away, being replaced by the evening sky. We soar through the fluffy orange clouds, gazing into each other's eyes as we listen to the birds chirping before we reappear outside of Zorander's house.
"Zor!" I exclaim as I approach the door.
My phone starts pinging and I realise that all the messages I didn't get while I was in Heaven are coming through now. Before I can check them, the door swings open and a smirking Zorander greets us, stepping aside so we can enter.
The Kattichthys in my arms releases a low sound which is a cross between a growl and a hiss as we pass Zorander. I place a kiss on their head before whispering in their ear. "It's okay, Snow Cone, Zorander is our friend."
