Yaz raced to find the train, which had just stopped in the middle of nowhere. Cassie watched as people desperately ran away from the train, screaming, eyes wide with fear. It would have been really funny if she couldn't read their minds or if Ryan's Nan wasn't on there. Their thoughts were scared and blurry but all had one thing in common, a strange floating ball sparking about. Something else Cassie didn't recognise but she had a feeling it was a droid of some sort. A sinking sensation tickled at the pit of her stomach, clenching painfully with dread and nerves.

Cassie followed Ryan and Yaz to the train and climbed on near the front of the train, where a large part of it was smashed in. The inside was dark and eerie, which Cassie noticed with a grimace that it had a very 'horror-movie' atmosphere. Cassie bit back a grin at Ryan's frantic thoughts and how desperate he was not to think about how it felt like they were on an haunted train or something. She knew that if Ryan knew about her powers, she would have teased him but Cassie couldn't tell him. Couldn't tell anyone, as it wouldn't be safe.

As they went further down the train, there was a loud piercing scream which shook Cassie to the core. And she was off, running in the direction of the scream. Ryan and Yaz were behind her.

"Cassie!" Yaz shouted.

Cassie ducked into a carriage, stopping on the spot when she came across the sparking thing that she had saw in other people's thoughts. Behind the thing was a middle-aged woman with warm brown eyes, which Cassie guessed as Ryan's Nan as their eyes were very similar. And her thoughts exploded with worry and fear when she saw Ryan. A middle-aged man with grey hair beside her, eyes wide with fear. Facing the sparking thing bravely was a blonde shoulder-length woman in ripped clothes. And lastly there was a timid man hiding away behind some seats, trembling and shaking like crazy. His thoughts were the worst as they were screaming at Cassie. The woman, Grace, was trying to think calmly and Graham was trying to reassure himself that it wasn't really possible.

"Nan!" Ryan shouted, pushing past Cassie to reach her. Cassie grabbed him before he could take another step and held him back. The thing was sparking dangerously and there wasn't any thoughts coming from it, which suggested to the telepath that it wasn't alive. That made it even more dangerous as you couldn't reason with it.

"Ryan, stay away!" Grace warned fearfully.

"Oh, my God," Yaz gasped.

Cassie pushed Ryan behind her and stepped closer to the thing. That sharp pain came back at full force and visions of ice, fire and blood exploded all over her mind, just as the thing let out an electrical discharged and shocked everyone for a brief second. It disappeared through the roof a minute later and Cassie grasped her collarbone, feeling a sharp painful jab there. Almost like she just had a needle jabbed there. Instantly Cassie knew what it was and dread bubbled up in her stomach. DNA bombs, illegal and outlawed in every galaxy and extremely dangerous.

The visions went away when that thing did and Cassie stumbled forward in surprise. Instinctively, the blonde woman reached out and caught the telepath before she could collaspe onto her knees.

"You alright?" The woman asked Cassie. Her brown eyes stared over the brunette with worry laced over her expression. Shock hit Cassie in the gut. She couldn't hear the blonde's thoughts. Nothing. It was almost like trying to listen to a brick wall, just empty and quiet. And whilst it shocked and scared the telepath, it was also a nice change. Sometimes listening to people's thoughts were exhausting, especially as she couldn't help it. That would be like trying to stop breathing.

When Cassie nodded, eyes wide from shock, the blonde pulled away and faced Graham, Grace and Kyle. "You three, relax, but stay put. I'll check the rest of the train"
