Cassie was relieved when they left the driver's carriage and headed back towards the others. Being in that room with the dead woman was giving her the jeepers.

"Wait. Can you stop, please?" Yaz asked the woman. "This could be a major incident. I'm the one in charge here"

"What are you going to do?" The woman questioned, facing Yaz.

"Call it in to my station," Yaz replied

"What are you going to tell them?"

"The facts," Yaz pointed out.

"Which are?" The woman continued.

"The train was attacked," Yaz retorted.

"Fun. A bit of back and forth," Cassie muttered with a snort. She threw herself on one of the seats nearby and placed her feet up on the backs of the seat facing her.

"By what?"

"I need to take a look at CCTV footage"

"And why do you need to check CCTV when we all saw it with our own eyes?" The woman said

"Probably cos we don't fully know what we saw," Cassie said, making the blonde look at her. "Besides its in the job description to check CCTV but I recon it's alien"

Ryan gaped, excitement and shock plastered over his expression. "It's alien? Is it actually? Because it looked like an alien to me"

Yaz rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on. Cassidy, seriously?"

"Oh shit," Cassie sighed, standing up. "The full name"

"Oi! Language," Blondie scolded. She turned back to Yaz. "What, you think they're wrong?"

"No, I dunno, but..."

"But you're worried about how you'll explain all this to a superior officer who won't believe you," Blondie realised.

"I can't not report it," Yaz said

"We could hold off until we get the answers to the bigger questions, " Cassie said to her, softly. Yaz meet her brown eyes with her own, pleading and communicating in their own way back and forth.

Yaz sighed a minute later and nodded reluctantly. "Which are?"

"What was it? Why is it here? Where's it going next? And, most importantly, how do we stop it? 'Cos whatever it is, I don't think it's done, " The woman said to the three of them. "Come on, Ryan. Come on Cass. Come on, Yaz. I'm calling you Yaz, cos we're friends now"

They followed her back to the others. Cassie smirked at Yaz's glare and shrugged. She wasn't good at her job anyway, with not liking following orders and telepathic powers that set her apart from the rest of the human race, it weren't surprising that she didn't always do what she was suposed to do.

...

Whilst Yaz was taking a witness statement from Karl, Cassie stood besides the blonde woman facing the others. She bit back a smile from the thoughts she could read.

"Right then, troops. No, not troops. Team, gang, fam?" The woman rambled. "I'm distracting myself"

"Good job," Cassie commented playfully.

The woman grinned back, instantly recognising the playfulness banter going to start. Whilst there was something off about Cassie, she couldn't help but like the brunette.

"Thanks," The woman said proudly. "Recon I'm quite good at that. Not sure that's a good thing though"

"You came crashing through that roof," Grace interrupted, smirking with amusement at the pair.
