In Love With My Best Friend (Tsukki x Yams)

8: Confession?

"Hey Yamaguchi, are you okay?" Tanaka asked a spaced out Yamaguchi who was staring off into the distance. "Is this about that girlllllll ?" Tanaka teased from the information he got yesterday, snapping Yamaguchi's head to Tanaka's smirking face. 

"Oh ho ho ho, what girl are we talking about here?" Nishinoya overheard the conversation, and decided to join in. "Does Yamaguchi have a crushhhhhhh?" 

"U-uh no." Yamaguchi stammered, mentally hitting himself because it sounded like he was lying to them. Which he was...he thinks.

"YOU STAMMERED! YOU'RE LYING!" Tanaka and Nishinoya both laughed in unison, making everyone's head turn their way. 

"Nishinoya....Tanaka...." Daichi gritted through his teeth, visibly upset because now everyone's heads in the restaurant is curiously looking this way. 

"We're deeply sorry Daichi-senpai." Both of their faces turned into an angelic expression, as the put their hands together, like prayer wise. Everyone just started cracking up at their expressions, and how formal they were apologizing to Daichi. 

"But seriously, Yamaguchi, do you have a crush on someone?" Tanaka asked, suddenly dropping the whole angelic act, Nishinoya not far behind him. 

"You can tell us!" Nishinoya reassured, slightly leaning over the table in anticipation. "We promise not to tell a soul! Right Tanaka?" He looked over to Tanaka who was nodding eagerly in agreement. 

"Yes but it's not a girl." Yamaguchi mumbled, thinking that they couldn't hear him. But, they were closer than Yams anticipated, and they heard every word he said. 

"Sooooo it's a boy?!" Nishinoya exclaimed, his face offering Yamaguchi a bright smile.

"Tell us! Tell us!" Tanaka pleaded, also giving Yamaguchi a warm smile. 

Yamaguchi had just realized what he'd done, and he slapped his hand over his mouth, praying he wouldn't let anything else embarrassing out. His face was all flustered, as he tried to hide it by laying his head down onto his arms. 

"Tanaka, Nishinoya, leave Yamaguchi alone." Sugawara lightly scolded the boys, seeing how uncomfortable Yamaguchi was.

"Argh fine. And don't worry Yama, we won't tell anyone!" They laughed with a mischievous laugh, going onto antagonize Tsukishima. 

"Stop getting your greasy hands on my glasses!" Tsukishima whined, trying to push the two toddler-like boys off of him. 

"You okay there Yamaguchi?" Sugawara asked the embarrassed boy in a laughing tone. "You look a little flustered." He added, looking at Yamaguchi's bright red cheeks. 

"Yes, I'm fine." Yamaguchi quietly spoke, hiding the embarrassment in his voice. 

Yamaguchi just heard the chuckle of Sugawara, as he went back to his conversation with Daichi. Yamaguchi had a feeling Daichi knew too, seeing as they were both smiling towards him.

"Why's your face so red?" A snarky voice made Yamaguchi's eyes dart up. Tsukishima was just there, smirking at the freckled boy who was flushed. "You told Tanaka and Nishinoya your big crush but not your best friend?" He sarcastically pouted, resting his face on his hands. 

"I don't have a crush." Yamaguchi mumbled, looking down at the food on his plate. Yams really wanted to confess, more and more sure of his feelings towards Tsukishima. 

"I heard it's a boy. I didn't know you were gay." Tsukki snickered, making Yamaguchi heat up a lot more. "I'm a bit offended you didn't tell me." Tsukishima taunted some more, making Yamaguchi a little upset.
