The next morning, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima woke up in the same position they fell asleep in last night. Yams' head was still resting on Tsukki's but, only the scenery was different. Outside of the window, it was sunny and shining with birds flying around instead of that dark and stormy weather.
"Tsukki." Yamaguchi softly mumbled, "I have to pee." Tsukishima's arms were still tightly wrapped around him so, he couldn't move.
The freckled boy did what he had to do and tickled Tsukki on the side of his ribs. Yamaguchi knew Tsukishima hated this but to his defense, he really had to pee. A grin grew on Tsukishima's sleepy face and he let go of Yamaguchi. The smaller boy took his chance and darted into the bathroom.
When Yamaguchi came out, he walked out and saw Tsukishima sitting up on the bed with a angry pout on his face. See? He hates being tickled, unconscious or conscious.
"You wouldn't let go." Yamaguchi shrugged, a smile crept up on his face when he remembered being embraced and kissed by Tsukishima last night. He quickly hid the smile away because, he figured it didn't mean anything like that. He hoped it did but, there was no telling with Tsukishima's expressionless face.
"Why didn't you just wake me up?" Tsukishima scoffed, yawning and making his way to the bathroom, shoving past Yamaguchi.
Yamaguchi looked down on his hands, remembering how it wrapped around Tsukki. Touching his lips and remembering the feeling of Tsukishima's warm ones on his. 'So does that mean Tsukki likes me?' Yamaguchi eagerly hoped in the back of his mind. 'I mean, he did kiss me back !'
Yams was so happy that he finally built up the courage to kiss Tsukki. He obviously felt no regrets but...did Tsukishima regret that kiss? That festered in Yamaguchi's mind throughout the day. This was the team's last day of being here so, they all decided to just spend it swimming at the beach.
Unlike any other places, the water and the sand at this beach was gorgeous. The water was crystal clear, to the point where you could see the fish and coral living at the bottom. The sand was a soft white color and it felt like heaven to walk through.
Tanaka and Nishinoya were chicken wrestling against Kageyama and Hinata, and that was absolute chaos. Nishinoya attempted to bite Hinata, as a way to make him fall off of Kageyama's shoulders. Hinata ended up biting Nishinoya back, shocking both of them because well...yeah. In the end, Tanaka and Nishinoya ended up coming on top, triumphing against Hinata and Kageyama.
"REMATCH!" Hinata shouted, Nishinoya, Tanaka agreeing because they wanted to win again. Kageyama just rolled his eyes, pushing Hinata's head down but, he ended up agreeing also.
Yamaguchi started to get cold in the water so, he made his way over to dry himself off on the sand. The sun was pretty bright out so, the sand was burning hot (not so heavenly today I guess). Tsukishima was also laying down on a towel so, Yamaguchi decided to go and join him.
"Hi Tsukki!" Yamaguchi let out a cheerful giggle, sitting down on the towel next to Tsukishima.
"Oh hey Yamaguchi." Tsukishima gave a small wave, but replying in a blunt tone of voice. He went back to laying on his back with his hands behind of his head, listening to his music. Yamaguchi decided to close his eyes and lay on his back, taking in the summer heat.
While he was bathing in the sun, Yamaguchi felt something slip into his right ear. He slightly turned his head to see Tsukishima putting one of his earbuds into his ear. Another one of those giddy smiles grew on Yamaguchi's face while he listened along with Tsukishima.
Everyone rotated coming out of the water, playing beach volleyball, and resting on the same until the sun went down. They wanted to spend as much time as they could on this beautiful beach before they left.
A few hours later...
Everyone decided to start wrapping it up, and getting everything together before the sun went down. Tsukishima and Yamaguchi were packing everything up, putting their towels, food and everything else into a bag. All of the other boys slumped back into the beach house, exhausted from their long day at the beach.
Yamaguchi wanted to stay out a little while longer to look up at the big, bright full moon. Tsukishima decided to stay back with him just to keep an eye on him...and maybe because he just wanted to watch Yams look up into the moonlight. It was like something out of a movie, it was pretty unreal how the moonlight shone down right on Yamaguchi.
Tsukishima watched as Yamaguchi took in a deep breath, taking in the cold and salty sea air. It's like Yams was that type of person that lived their life to the fullest. Taking in every single moment like it's his last. Breathing every breath of air like he's going to be locked in containment the next day. Admiring every piece of nature and scenery like it's something off a foreign land.
That's what Tsukishima loved about Yamaguchi.
No matter how crushed he ever was, no matter how upset he ever was, he always ended up smiling at the end of the day. It might take a few minutes, or a few hours but by the time that sun goes down, he always has that bright big smile of his.
'When did I start thinking mushy thoughts like this?' Tsukishima thought to himself, sighing as he admired Yamaguchi basking in the light. 'How'd I let myself get so attached to Yamaguchi ?'
More importantly, 'how did I let myself fall in love with my best friend ?'
