Today was Yamaguchi and Tsukishima's first date. Yams didn't exactly know what to wear because Tsukki said it'd be a surprise. So, he just tossed on his regular clothing and eagerly waited for that doorbell to ring.
Ring!
Once he heard that, Yamaguchi quickly sprung up from his couch to answer the door. There stood the tall blonde boy holding a bouquet of colorful flowers in his hand. Yams decided to quickly turn around, facing his back to Tsukki to hide his flushed face.
"Yamaguchi? What're you doing?" Tsukki raised his eyebrow, placing his hand on the smaller boy's shoulder. "Wait..." The blonde boy snickered, turning Yams around to see that the green haired boy was bright red.
"Thank you for the flowers." Yamaguchi softly spoke, taking the bouquet out of Tsukishima's hands. "They're beautiful!" He smiled brightly, switching the roles and making Tsukki blush.
"You ready to go?" Tsukishima cleared his throat, and pushed his glasses up.
"I don't even know where we're going." Yamaguchi nervously chuckled, rubbing his hand against his neck. Before he knew it, Tsukishima grabbed him by the hand and soon would lead both of them to their long awaited destination.
While they were walking to the mysterious place, at the halfway mark, Tsukishima told Yamaguchi to cover his eyes as he lead Yams through the pitch black pathway. (Pitch black for Yamaguchi at least.)
"Okay...and open!" Tsukki exclaimed, revealing the picnic under a huge tree.
The picnic blanket was dinosaur printed, like all of the sheets Tsukishima had back home. Laying there was a picnic basket and a disposable camera which Yamaguchi assumed was to take pictures with.
"Tsukki..you did all this for me?!" Yamaguchi shimmered under the sunlight while he looked at his best friend in awe. This made Tsukishima smile because of how cute Yams looked as his eyes went back and forth between the picnic and the blonde boy.
"Well, I had a little help from Sugawara. Since he said he was the master at date planning." Tsukishima muttered that last sentence under his breath. Yamaguchi laughed because of how red Tsukki was. Normally, this isn't something typical Tsukishima would do so it was like a breath of fresh air.
"Wow, you guys both picked a beautiful spot!" Yamaguchi gleamed as he looked around to see petals falling from the trees. Not to mention how it was a secluded area on top of a hill. "Thank you Tsukki." He smiled, giving the blonde boy a tight squeeze.
"Yeah, yeah. C'mon, let's eat." Tsukki let out a small grin as he pulled Yams by the hand to have a seat down at the picnic blanket.
Tsukishima just watched in joy as the smaller boy ate and gleamed at all of the food. These are one of those many moments with Yamaguchi that Tsukki's cheeks actually hurt from smiling so much. He finally got what he yearned for, for so long.
"Tsukki, aren't you gonna eat?" The dark haired boy asked as he chomped down on a small strawberry. "Or do you need me to feed you?" Yams chuckled as he grabbed another, shoving it towards Tsukishima.
"You dork." Tsukki softly laughed, taking a bite of the strawberry from Yamaguchi's hand.
That's when they both realized, they finally have each other. They were finally happy together.
What more did they need?
