I raced down the street as fast as possible, desperately trying to outrun the car chasing after me. Even with super soldier serum coursing through my veins, it was useless.

I took a sharp left and heard the screech of burning rubber on pavement as the black SUV followed suit. Damn, they seem really set on catching me.

The amount of places I had left to turn added up to about zero so I ducked behind a van that was parked in the side of the road and unholstered the Beretta M9 I had on my thigh. I took a deep breath before turning around and shooting out their tires.

They swerved into the side of a building and piled out of the car. The driver was unconscious with a considerable amount of blood on his face. Two women and a man pulled their own guns out and started firing at me. I once again ducked behind the van as bullets went above me and through the metal.

Cool air filled my lungs as I inhaled deeply, calming my nerves. I stood up and took my aim.

The first woman, a brunette, got one shot to the foot and another to the temporal lobe.

The man got three to the chest and one to the stomach.

The second woman had better aim than her friends and managed to get one round in my bicep before I emptied my magazine into her gut. Did I go a little overboard? Maybe. But I was mad. Sue me.

I reloaded my gun before striding over to the driver and putting two in his head for good measure. I checked to make sure they weren't still kickin' and ran back home.

I yanked the black fabric mask off of my face and collapsed onto the mattress in the corner of the room. The abandoned building wasn't great but I made do.

My arm was screaming at me to get the bullet out of it so I pulled my shirt off and grabbed my makeshift first aid kit.

I used needle nose pliers to get the round out and dropped it into a cup with the rest of my ever growing collection. I gritted my teeth as the alcohol disinfected the wound. A few shoddy stitches later and I was finished. Super healing will kick in soon and I'll be right as rain.

I pulled a sweatshirt over my head and laid back on the mattress, slowly letting sleep take over.
