Chapter 1 ~ Jay POV

"They just keep coming!" Jay yelled, backing away from the Anacondri. They had surrounded him and his team by now, and it didn't look like escape was an option.
"Keep... Fighting...!" He heard Kai grunt, glancing at the man who had sweat pouring from his face. Jay thought he was going to pass out.
"Nya!" Cole shouted over the battle. "Get Kai to safety. We may lose him if he's not careful." Nya rushed to his brother and attempted to pull him out of the battle, fending off the man-snakes the best he could. Jay glanced to his side, seeing Zane (now Titanium Ninja) spewing ice at his enemies. Jay was glad they'd found him. He had helped a lot when he wasn't trapped in a cell on an island. Deep in thought, Jay didn't realise Skales pouncing on him - he had seconds to block the attack. Jay could feel his heart thundering.
"RETREAT!" Skylor yelled. With no complaints, Jay clambered into his mech and managed to plough through multiple Anacondri warriors, and began to sprint in the direction of Kai and Nya. He could see Zane following on with his Titanium Dragon, while Cole had had no other choice but to run. Skylor swooped past on her hover board. Jay knew they would all have to hurry if they had any chance in outrunning the enemy.

Back at camp, Nya and Kai had dissapeared. Jay assumed it was probably to make sure Kai didn't faint. Cole was planning escape routes with Zane, Pixal helping with directions, while Skylor was helping Jay fix up his mech. It was obvious Jay had his suspicions about Skylor, but he couldn't really do anything about it. Kai was so protective he had once punched Jay, almost knocking his teeth out.
"You okay?" Skylor interrupted. Jay felt he had been thinking aloud. He nodded, screwing the mech's leg into place.
"You look troubled." Jay couldn't take Skylor's pandering anymore.
"I have to go." Jay grunted and stormed off, pretending he was looking for some bolts, but as soon as Skylor wasn't looking, he zipped behind a tree. He face palmed at his stupidity, but soon decided to look for Nya and Kai as an excuse to not face the red-head again.
