HTTYD "Reboot" (alternate timeline)

Chapter 4: Bonding, Sparring, Dating advice and Spines

At sea

Stoick:"We're getting close. I can smell them. Get ready."

Ack:"Aight, chief. Where we turning?"

Stoick:"The fog. Take us in."

Ack:"Yes, chief. Helheims' gate, now!" yelled the chiefs' second mate, and the most experienced sailor.

The ships enter the fog, soon followed by a flash that revealed a huge Nightmare right above them.

At the Kill ring

Hiccup:"You know, I was reading the manual yesterday, and noticed a distinct lack of information on the Night Fury. Is there like a sequel? Maybe a Night Fury pamphlet?"

His axe gets melted, leaving him only with a smoking shaft.

Gobber:"Focus, Hiccup!"

Hiccup turns towards where the flame came from, and saw a blue Nadder, which was hopping above on the walls of the maze that Gobber and Spitelout set up. It squawked at him before launching some spines, which Hiccup barely avoided.

Spitelout:"Today's all about attacking back. The Nadders are light on their feet, quick, and active like a Thornston on a sugar rush! Ya gotta be quicker, lighter and focused!"

Stormfly:"I am sick and tired of this running. Get your asses back here!"

Fishlegs was running along a corridor when the Nadder fired spines at him, which he barely blocked with his shield.

Fishlegs:"I'm really starting to question your teaching methods!"

Spitelout:"Question them if ya want! Just follow'em!"

Ulfhild:"This is awesome!"

Dogsbreath:"Stop yelling, it's gonna  come after us!"

Tuffnut:"I was under the impression it's supposed to. How do we attack it if it's not near?"

Ruffnut:"Good point. When did you start making those?"

Dogsbreath:"Well I don't want to get roasted besides you lot." And with that, he ran off.

Ulfhild:"Where are the others?"

Fishlegs:"This is dangerous! I really think we should have had some theory instead!"

Astrid:"You only learn from experience, Fishlegs."

Fishlegs:"Exactly. The experience of the people who wrote the manual. This is NOT how school should be."

Hiccup:"I agree with Fishlegs on this one. This is some crazy shit."

Snotlout:"Zip it, losers! We're not fighting a Thunderdrum, so we need to be quiet to ambush it!"

Astrid:"Well said. Now move!"

One after the other, Astrid and Snotlout rolled perfectly past the dragon without making any real noise. Then came Hiccup, and while he perfectly executed the roll itself, he majesticaly screwed up the recovery, ending on the ground with a clang. With the dragons' attention now towards them, Fishlegs just ran over to the other side screaming.

Stormfly:"Now I've got you!"

She fired a barrage of spines at Hiccup and Astrid, who was dragging him to his feet. Snotlout yanked Astrids' shield out of her hand and used both her and his own shield to create a barrier, blocking all the spines. As soon as Hiccup was up, Snotlout tossed Astrid her shield back and ran along with her and Hiccup, now trying to find a new place to set an ambush. They found it as the Nadder got distracted by a loud yell.
