Chapter 5 - The Third Island

Chiaki Pov

'Puhuhuhuhu...'

I suddenly turn my head to see the black and white bear watching us. To my surprise, Peko pulls her sword off her back and turns to face him. 'What do you want?'

Monokuma chuckles. 'Puhuhu... Nothing much.. I was just wondering where you'd all vanished off to. And then I find you all here, looking at-' his gaze turns to the screen. 'What the- Well well well, what do we have here? I wonder what these two lovebirds would do if I interrupted them...'

Monomi stepped in front of Peko. 'Don't you dare! Let them have their moment!'

'Now, I would beat you up right now, buuuuuuut I have other things on my mind... Such as a new motive! Since Peko tried to murder Mahiru, I have a feeling that the Twilight Syndrome motive has expired!,' Monokuma looked at the floor sadly. Seconds later, he perked up again, 'However, I have a new and even better motive! Prepare for the most deepest, darkest despair! Puhuhuhu!'

And with that, Monokuma vanished. Kazuichi spoke up. 'I swear, if he bursts in on them-' He trails off, unable to think of a reasonable threat.

'I do not think you pathetic mortals need to worry about that mishap anymore.' Gundham says, pointing at the screen, which shows Nagito and Hajime walking towards the cottages, hand in hand.

'I wonder if they're going to the same cottage~ OW!' Kazuichi put his hand on his cheek, where Fuyuhiko had slapped him.

'Shut the hell up. I'm sick of you,' he says, before walking outside. Peko hastily follows.

Ibuki giggles uneasily. 'Well, it will be night time soon, Ibuki thinks it's a good idea for us to walk back now.'

Mikan nods. 'Y-yeah... W-with what M-monokuma is p-planning, w-we should s-stay i-inside...'

We said our goodbyes and headed to our cottages.

Hajime Pov

'Puhuhu! Good morning everyone! Due to the last motive sadly failing, I have a surprise for you! I have moved the Monobeast guarding the third island! Now you can explore it all you want! Bye bye! Puhuhu!'

I wake up to Monokuma's announcement. It's different this morning... He said he opened up the third island... But why? I know that he'd never do something nice for us... I brush it off and get out of bed, before heading to the third island with Nagito.

When we arrive at the bridge, like Monokuma said, the Monobeast was gone. Instead, we found the rest of our friends there. For some reason, they're all whispering to each other, and looking at us occasionally. As we walk towards them, they all go silent and look at me and Nagito weirdly.

'Uh...' I say nervously, 'What's going on?'

They start whispering again, then stop and push Chiaki forward. She giggles shyly. 'Well... Congratulations to you two I guess!'

Nagito looks at me, confused. I could tell what he was thinking. How do they know?

'Well... You could say that word spreads fast on this island,' says Sonia. The rest nod in agreement.

'A-anyway...' Mikan stutters nervously, 'W-we thought th-that m-maybe we should s-split up and e-explore in g-groups...'

What are they doing? First, they all know about me and Nagito dating, then they try to get us on our own together?

'Well, I think that's a good idea Mikan. Me and Hajime will pair up then!' says Nagito, to my surprise, 'If that's fine with you, of course,' he adds, looking at me. I nod before looking at the group again.

Something isn't right... 'Wait, where's Ibuki?' I ask, wondering where the energetic girl had gone off to.

'Oh, she saw the music venue and ran off towards it,' answers Mahiru. She seemed to have recovered reasonably well from the attempted murder.

'A-and she a-asked if we c-could m-meet her b-back th-there in t-two hours,' Mikan adds, 'C-can you m-make it?

Me and Nagito both nod. 'Yeah, that's fine,' he says, as everyone starts crossing the bridge in various small groups. I take his hand and we walk across the bridge.

Nagito Pov

'So...' Hajime says, 'Where do you wanna go first?'

I shrug, 'I would like to that place that looks like a movie theater... But my opinion doesn't mat- mph-'

I'm silenced by Hajime putting his hand over my mouth. 'Stop treating yourself like that! You're not trash, your opinion does matter and you are an amazing person, so stop telling yourself otherwise!'

I feel someone push me forward into Hajime. He stumbles backwards, his hand flying away from my mouth. I fall forwards into him, but he manages to keep his feet firmly on the floor. I look up and see his face inches from mine. I hear a giggle.

'Hehehe! Sorry, not sorry!' laughs Hiyoko, skipping away from us towards Mahiru.

I laugh nervously and step back. 'Heh... Sorry about that Hajime...'

He looks kind of shaken up. 'I-its fine... It wasn't your fault.' Without thinking, I wrap my arms around Hajime and pull him into a hug. 'E-eh-' he mumbles, blushing.

'Alright,' I say, smiling, 'Movie theater it is.'

Hajime Pov

Nagito releases me from his hug before we walk to the movie theater. However, after we step through the door, we hear a voice.

'Puhuhuhu! Well well well, hello there Nagito and Hajime! I'm glad you came!'

I roll my eyes. 'Yes Monokuma? What is it?'

He chuckles, and pulls out two movie tickets. 'Were you seriously planning on trying to watch a movie without any tickets? If so, you're more stupid than I thought! Puhuhu! Anyway, here! They're one time use, so enjoy it while you can!'

And with that, Monokuma runs off, leaving the tickets behind. We pick them up and head into the screening room.

Me and Nagito sit down in our seats as the words The Wizard Of Monomi fade onto the screen. I suddenly get second thoughts. In Monokuma's announcement this morning, he said something about the last motive... Could this be a new one? I push the thought to the back of my mind as the movie starts playing.

The credits start rolling. That is, if you could even call them credits. It was just a big list of Monokuma's name.

'Well, that was boring,' says Nagito, standing up. 'Was that meant to mean something? Or was it just Monokuma's way of trying to torture us?'

I sigh and stand up with Nagito. 'I have no idea...'
