it may not look like it, but niall heard him chuckle. niall definitely heard him chuckle. it sounded like heaven, or maybe thousand of angels singing a beautiful song- that's how beautiful it sounded. niall just couldn't help but turn red at the thought. he didn't know why the masterpiece chuckled but it had to be because of him. he didn't recall doing anything except be so absorbed in reading his book.

maybe the way he sat looked funny or his hair looked ridiculous. the blond-haired angel just couldn't get over it that his mum noticed how he'd been smiling all day long.

"hey niall," she called him out.

"yes, mum?" he answered.

"what got you so happy today, hm?" she smiled.

"mum, i have a question."

"i asked first but sure, what is it?" maura raised her brow.

"do you feel happy seeing someone you love happy after?"

"of course, love."

"then you got your answer." niall giggled then went upstairs.

from that moment, maura never smiled so widely in her life- his son was growing up and jumping out of the box.

niall closed the door and couldn't help but smile more brightly;

a simple chuckle from him was enough.
