"Harley! Rory!" Emily greeted as she opened her front door to see the two Gilmore girls on her front porch, a taxi behind them. "Hi, Grandma." They greeted
"Girls, is everything okay?" The older woman worried as she looked around at the scene in front of them. "Everything's fine." Rory tried as she held onto her sister's hand. "Oh, Richard! Richard, pay the cab."
"Cab? Who took a cab?" Richard questioned as he neared the foyer. "Harley and Rory did."
"What are Harley and Rory doing here? Hello Rory, Harley." The man greeted as he spotted the two girls at the door once he looked away from the newspaper in his hand. "Hi, Grandpa." Rory greeted.
"I don't know what they're doing here. Just pay the man and I'll find out." Emily barked as if the two girls weren't standing just a couple of feet away.
"For Pete's sake." Richard groaned as he walked past the girls outside towards the cab. "Come inside. So tell me, what is going on?" Emily spoke as she pulled the girls inside.
"We had a fight with Mom," Rory explained quietly. "You had a fight with your mother?" Emily asked Rory more than Harley. Harley and Lorelai butted heads all the time but Rory never fought with the woman, not like this.
"I just couldn't take it anymore. I had to get out of there." Rory nodded as they made their way into the living room and onto the couch. "Out of your house?"
"Out of that house, that town. Everything. I just had to go."
"He tacked on an extra five dollars just for waiting. Feel like I'm back in Prague. Do you want a cocktail?" Richard announced as he entered the room. "Please," Harley mumbled.
"No thanks." Rory shot her sister a look. "Richard!" Emily barked at the man as he poured himself a glass. "Oh, sorry, sorry. I'm just a little confused here." The man shot Harley a mischievous smirk and a wink.
"You're all dressed up. You were going out. I'm so sorry!" Rory worried. "Oh, please, don't be." Harley frowned at the thought that they had ruined their grandparents' plans. "It doesn't matter, Rory."
"I'm sorry. Please go out. Wr didn't mean to ruin your evening." Rory started. "Yeah, we didn't think! We should've called." Harley continued. "Now you two calm down right now. You do not need to call before you come over here. You are both welcome any time." Emily took Harley's hand into hers.
"Tonight especially." The man scoffed. "Do you want to talk about what happened?" Emily offered. "Emily, don't pry." Richard tried. "I'm not prying, Richard." The two began to argue. "The girls obviously need some peace."
