"And that's why I will never bring Spencer to a Friday night dinner no matter the occasion." Harley chuckled as she entered her room, Sarah following closely behind. "Boy next door? H, please tell me you two aren't rekindling." Sadie threw herself down onto the girl's bed.
"No. Right. We're not friends anymore. We're not rekindling, if anything we've stomped the fire out completely." Harley bit her lip as she removed her cardigan "Spencer might be all tall, grungy, and hot, but he's a total douche and he doesn't deserve to even have you as a friend." Sadie sighed as she leaned back onto the mattress. "And he's poor. You can't be a trash person and broke at the same time. That's like being fat and unfunny. There has to be compensation."
Harley didn't bother disagreeing as she pulled out an outfit she had gotten at the mall when she had gone with the girls; A red tube top, a jean skirt, and a pair of her mother's heels. "Is Nik going to be home?" Sadie questioned the girl, a smirk forming on her lips.
"Well, he does live there so I'd say there's a good chance." Harley shrugged, not paying Sadie's devious look any mind. "Did you bring a change of clothes or are we stopping by your house first?" Harley questioned as she began to get dressed.
"My clothes are in the car, I'll change on the way." Sadie shrugged, fixing her hair in Harley's mirror as the girl quickly changed out of her dress and into the outfit Sadie had purchased for her. "Oh, come on, Harley. Tell me you're not even the tiniest bit excited to see him."
"Sadie, I am dating your brother,"
"You can be a loyal girlfriend to Connor and still admit that Nik is insanely yummy." Sadie giggled. "We should go while Mom's too busy consuling Rory to question us," Harley spoke as she gathered her shoes and bag into her arms.
Sadie followed the girl downstairs where they quickly shouted a goodbye to Lorelai before bolting out the door and into Sadie's town car.
It was a little unnecessary, Lorelai had already agreed to let Harley go to the small party at Austin Montgomery's house a week in advance, but that didn't stop Harley from avoiding her mother's long lecture about safety and smart decisions and how to always win in beer pong.
Sadie unzipped the black bag that was hanging from the door handle to reveal a light blue slip dress and a darker-colored Saint Laurent sweater. After struggling into the new outfit Sadie pulled a bottle of champagne out of a compartment in the back.
"Isn't it a little early for that?" Harley questioned the girl, they weren't even in Hartford yet. "Oh, my precious Goldie, it's never too early for champagne." Sadie laughed before she popped the bottle open, the noise causing Harley to jump in her seat before falling into a fit of laughter at her action.
