This is the story of Sydney Gillespie and Savannah Lee May. Sydney had a huge secret. Nobody knew that secret, the only person that did had been her best friend Owen Patrick Joyner. He had always supported her through everything so it was no surpri...
We arrive at my house and I hurry up to get out of the car. "Good luck, I'll text you," Savannah says. "Thanks," I say waving as I walk into the building. I make my way up to the apartment. By now, Charlie is probably up so I walk in as quietly as possible. The lights turn on and I jump. "Where were you!?! Do you know how worried I was!?!" Charlie yells at me. I break down into tears. "I'm sorry Char, I fell asleep..." "Where?" "Please don't be mad... I fell asleep at Savannah's..."
"YOU WERE WHERE!?! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU SYDNEY. I PUT MY TRUST INTO YOU AND YOU WENT BEHIND MY BACK AND WENT TO SAVANNAH'S!?! GIVE ME YOUR PHONE AND GO TO YOUR ROOM!" Charlie yells. I don't move. "NOW, SYDNEY! YOU ARE 17 YEARS OLD, YOU SHOULD'NT BE GOING BEHIND MY BACK LIKE THAT!" "I'm sorry Charlie..." I say breaking down into tears. "Sorry doesn't cut it this time. Phone. Now. I won't say it again." I reluctantly hand Charlie my phone and run to my room, slamming the door behind me and jump onto my bed crying. Charlie walks into my room and sits on my bed. "Are you and Savannah dating?" "No, we're just friends..." I say still crying into my pillow.
Charlie rubs up and down my back as a way to calm me down. "Syd... Friends don't look at friends that way. I want the truth." "Charlie, I'm telling you the damn truth!" I yell, now looking at Charlie. "Sydney Elizabeth Gillespie! You do not raise your voice at me. Here I was, planning to give you your phone back if you promised you wouldn't ever date her or go out with her as you did but look who ruined her chance. You are grounded for a month with no phone and no going out, you will only be getting your phone back during school hours. You will start school at 8 am and finish at 3 from now on. If you have a single F, I will be taking your phone for longer. Do you understand me?"
I nod. Charlie nods his head and leaves me alone. I go to get my laptop but Charlie comes in. "Give me your laptop too, I will give it to you in the mornings before I leave." I give Charlie my laptop and break down into tears again. Charlie leaves and I bury myself in my covers. Before I know it, I'm fast asleep. The next morning, I am awoken by Charlie pulling the covers off me. I groan. "Charlie, leave me alone." "Get up now, Owen doesn't have rehearsal today so he will be over shortly to make sure you're doing your schoolwork and aren't on your phone. Get dressed now." "Charlie, I don't need a fucking babysitter." "He's not a babysitter, he's helping me out by making sure your miserable because that's how your punishment is meant to be." "Charlie, I'm 17, almost 18, I don't need to be looked after." "Sydney, I won't say it again. Get up and get ready." "Fine," I say getting out of bed as Charlie leaves my room. I get dressed into this outfit:

I do my makeup and walk out of my room. I walk to the kitchen and as I approach I hear Charlie and Owen talking. "Dude, don't you think you're overreacting? It's not like they're dating. And so what if they are? What's your problem with that?" Owen says. "I just don't want my baby sister to get hurt okay? I love her with all my heart and I could never forgive myself if something happened to her that I could've stopped from happening." "Have some faith in her bro, give her some more freedom, after what happened with Isabelle, she deserves to be happy," Owen says. "Okay, fine, I'm still not allowing them to date but they can hang out again. And she can have her stuff back." Charlie says. I come out of hiding and act like I just got there and didn't hear anything.
