[ Hogwarts 1943 ]
The pair of teens looked at each other in panic, as the rast footsteps of whoever heard them neared, they both seemed at a loss at what to do. Evangeline was about to call out to whoever was there and let them know they were there. Evan hated being in trouble, it drove her insane to know someone had caught her doing something she wasn't suppose to. And Evangeline Potter could definitely be Hogwarts goof-two-shoes. The girl rarely stepped out of line and if she did it was because Circe forgot to do her homework and Evangeline offered to do it, everyone knew Circe didn't have that good of handwriting nor did she care enough to finish her answers in complete sentences. Unlike Evangeline, who could be the grammar police at times.
Tom shot his hand out in front of her mouth and clasped his hand around her head and making sure to prevent any sound coming out of the Blonde Beauty's mouth, " What are you doing?" Tom lowly hissed to the girl. Dragging her in the opposite direction of the Perfect that was searching for them. As they continued walking the hallways began to get colder and darker as they went on. And Evangeline knew where Tom was headed, and she nearly shit herself at the thought.
" Tom?" asked the Blonde, but he simply ignored her, and continued tugging her through the halls and turns of the castle. " Tom!" when he stilled ignored her protests she dug her feet into the ground and tried to pull herself from Tom's grasp. " Tom! I'm not going to the Slytherin Common room, take me to the Hufflepuff Tower Alatar is probably worried" the Hufflepuff exclaimed, finally giving up on tugging herself out of Tom's embrace as she hadn't moved an inch.
" Oh, the nutjob forgot about you yesterday, what makes you think he'll remember you now" Tom Riddle knew he was being a bit rude, hell he knew he was being more than rude. But he wanted to get them both out of here without any detentions and Evangeline was making that nearly impossible for them at the moment. " listen we-" Tom cut his whispers short when he glanced up and saw the Perfect turn down the hallway they were on, the Perfect's torch lighting up the darkened hallway.
Tom Riddle cursed under his breath and and harshly pulled Evangeline into his chest and backed them into the darkest corner of the Hallway. One of Tom's arms was wrapped tightly around Evangeline's wasit and another cupped her mouth from making any noises. Her petite frame seemed to fit perfectly into Tom's tall, lanky build. Tom's chest heaved against her back as he watched the Perfect scour down the corridor, looking for anyone that may be hidden in the shadows.
Evangeline pushed herself back more into Tom's chest as the Perfect began to get closer, she squeezed her eyes shut in hopes that if she didn't see him, he wouldn't see them. She felt Tom lean down towards her and began to whisper harshly in her ear, " See what happens when you dilly dally." he teased in his ear but it more of a scolding than a tease.
Evangeline would've turned around and glared deeply at Tom if they weren't in the position they were in now, and Evangeline was deathly scared the perfect would find them and send her into the forbidden forest, like Circe had to do in 4th year after getting caught after hours sneaking back from some Ravenclaw. " Tom, now is not the time for that. You can scold me after rightnow you need to shut it" Evan bit back, throwing her head roughly against his chest.
When Tom was about to respond, the Perfect stepped out in front of them with a sneering smile, " You should really learn how to whisper." The gryffindor scoffed at the two. He roughly grabbed Evangeline's arms and ripped her from Tom's grip and glared deeply into the Slytherin's face, " Next time you want to sneak out make sure you're Whore knows how shut it when she needs to."
Tom nearly snapped his neck right there and then if it wasn't for Evangeline's offended gasp from the perfect's crude comment he would have. Tom stepped forward, his eyes nearly pure black from the anger swirling into them. Tom took the wrist of the Perfect that held Evangeline and ripped it away from her. With a sickening snap to the left, the wrist no longer fit the right way on his bone. And with a a scream of agony, Tom pushed the Perfect to the ground, ready for him to be dealt with once Evangeline was gone. Riddle turned his gaze to Evangeline who stared in shock at the Slytherin, " You are to go to the Slytherin Common room and get Abraxas and Nott and tell them to come to me." Tom stated, leaving no room for argument but when Evangeline didn't move from her spot Tom tried again, " Evie! Go, now!" his voice boomed.
Evangeline jumped from her spot and glanced one more time at the Perfect that was withering in pain, clutching his wrist to his chest. She nodded her head and scurried down the dark hallway and towards the Slytherin house.
Evangeline knew this wouldn't be good. She had heard rumor from countless people that Tom Riddle was cure merciless man, but she never believed anything, he was a 16 year old boy how merciless could he really be. But seeing what she saw just now made her doubt for a second. 'What he really was as cruel as they said' she thought
She didn't have time to contemplate what was going through her head as she was now in front of the painting that led to the Slytherin common room. She had been here multiple times after dropping Circe off if she had too much to drink or even just meeting Circe here before class.
Evangeline reached to knock on the door, letting her knuckles hit against the painting. Once she had done it she wasn't really sure what to do. What if they were already sleeping and weren't in the common room and wouldn't be able to hear it. before she could knock again the door swung open revealing the two people Tom had asked for. " I-um" Evangeline started but they were already moving past here and down the hall that led to Tom and the Perfect.
Before she went to leave Nott turned and glanced at Evan, " Just stay with Circe tonight. It's easier than walking all the way back to Hufflepuff." Evan knew there was more to the story on why they didn't want her walking around but she didn't question it. She nodded her head with a small smile and watched as he ran after Abraxas.
Evan dragged herself up the stairs of the Slytherin dorms, completely exhausted from the nights events. She carefully crept into the Dorm of Circe Garnier, she walked quietly to the back of the room where Circe's bed was located and slipped into the bed completely unnoticed by everyone. And before she fell asleep she watched as the snow fall from the sky more gracefully than anything she has seen before.
