[ Hogwarts 1996 ]
At one point Dumbledore called in Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley, the best friends of Harry Potter. Despite Dumbledore wanting to keep Evangeline a secret from everyone, he knew that Harry was going to need his friends, and it was key for Hermione and Ron to know just as much as Harry about Evangeline Potter.
So there, three sixth years sitting in front of Dumbledore's desk, with Dumbledore watching all three. Harry looked in deep thought still running over the idea of his Great Aunt and Voldemort being in love. Hermione was thinking about every possible way this could be Voldemort's down fall, and how they could use it to their advantage. And Ron, Ron was eating a cookie he grabbed from the table after Dumbledore called them down, not really seeing the big deal about the whole thing, Ron knew things obviously didn't work out between them and didn't see use for this information.
" Sir-" Ron began, with cookie crumbles coming out of his mouth when he spoke landing on Dumbledore's office floor, only to be interrupted by Hermione.
" Ronald! Speak after you're done chewing" She scowled. Ron just rolled his eyes and swallowed the last bit of food in his mouth.
" Sir, I don't understand the use for this information. Things didn't work out between them, obviously. So what's the point of learning this now? I don't believe he would really care about a measly love that happened over 50 years ago." Ron questioned, earning glares from both his best friends, who wanted to know more about Evangeline's and Tom's love story.
" Ron!" Harry hissed, glaring at the red head," Be quiet!"
Dumbledore merely chuckled at Ron, who had no idea that just the name Evangeline controlled Voldemort, they couldn't imagine what she could actually do to him if she wanted. " I see your questioning Mister Weasley" Dumbledore nodded in understanding of how they would be confused, learning about Evangeline was very out of the blue, " But I think once you hear the story, you will change your perception on what Evangeline could do to Tom Riddle."
All three seventh years suddenly wanted to know more due to their Headmaster's statement. " Professor, did you ever see them together? Like being-" Harry paused, not sure of what word to use, after a moment, "- being 'couplely'" Harry finished, lightly cringing at the word. Ron just snorted, not believing Voldemort was ever 'couplely' with anyone.
Dumbledore shook his head, " They never really showed it" Dumbledore concluded, " But it was very obvious they fancied each other."
" But, if they never showed it how do you know they were in love?" Hermione asked, she knew Voldemort was conceived under a love potion, and logically speaking he couldn't love, but she wanted to understand why Evangeline was so important to Voldemort.
Dumbledore chuckled again, " Oh, Miss Granger if you were there you would understand, anyone with eyes could see it. They always stood closer than just friends would. If they touched hands, or arms, they would linger longer than usual. When one looked away the other would just simply stare at the other. It was little things they did that made it so obvious that they were deeply in love." Dumbledore said. The three students could see the small lingering smile that was one Dumbledore's face just from thinking about a time where Tom Riddle wasn't Voldemort. " And just the look in Tom's eye when he loved at Evangeline you would of never guessed he was filled with Darkness. He followed her like a lost puppy, always one step behind her, glaring at any who would look at her. Of course, she didn't know that. She wouldn't let that boy hurt a fly, and didn't hesitate to put him in his place when he needed too. And he let her." Dumbledore sighed, " It broke my heart after the accident"
All three eyes widened, " What accident!" they all shouted. " What happened, is she okay?" Harry asked, slightly worried Voldemort did something.
Dumbledore shook his head, " No, forgot I said that." he stated, " Off you go, it's time for bed" Dumbledore said, ushering them out of his office, " Come back tomorrow after dinner"
Sorry if this was a short, I'll do a longer one next time, don't worry. love you guys, bye!!!
