The wedding was all white, silver and lilac, gorgeous and sparkling, it was everything I could've ever dreamed of.

Leaving Hannah's fingers as she walked before me were the petals of wisterias and white lilies, her hand reaching in and out of the basket to gather more and more handfuls to which she'd gracefully allow to fly with the breeze.

Trailing behind me with my train held above her waist was Sophia in her own fine gown, being lilac as requested to suit the theme of the wedding. Elizabeth walked behind her, being the maid of honour considering she was my best friend.

My arm was hooked under Phipps, since I decided to ask him to walk me down the aisle over my father. He meant more to me than my father did. His own attire was silver and white, his hems of metallic lace that sparkled when the sun hit them.

Before me, I could see him. My love, my soulmate, an angel with the soul of a demon perhaps. The Earl Charles Grey. In a few moments from now, I would be the Countess Grey. (Y/n) Grey. I said that in my mind as if I hadn't already repeated the phrase over and over and over in my head beforehand.

I wish you were here Aunty, Uncle.

Ahead, her majesty Queen Victoria stood in the centre of the platform. She insisted that she carry out the ceremony, with the assistance of John, in order to retain the personal touch. It meant a lot to me that she'd go out of her way to do something so sweet for us, I never in my life before now could've imagined being married by the Queen herself into the family of a man who genuinely loves me over a strategic marriage.

From a stage aside the wedding was a band, playing pretty instruments like harps and violins, making it seem as though I had just entered the scene from heaven. And since we were holding the ceremony outside, amongst tall wisteria trees that sat either side of the chairs that were either side the aisle, the sun seemed to shine upon me, making my skin glow as though I were an angel.
