A/N: alrighty, before ANYONE says it, YES  I KNOW UNDERTAKER'S 'REAL' NAME IN THE STORY IS A FANON AND NOT ACTUAL CANON. I just like the fanon name, and besides he doesn't have a canon name as far as I'm concerned so I'll use his fanon name like I write Grell as a true trans woman, fOR THE FANONNNNNN >:D

Anyways, enjoy!!

It had been a few days since the incident which happened on board the Campania's maiden and only voyage. (Y/n) was spending those days recovering, though she was not bed bound thankfully.

Since she had missed her husband after promising to see him after that mess, she asked Ronald if he and Phipps were still alive. Regretfully, he answered with a somber 'yes', and she would write a letter to her long lost lover.

It would go like this:

My dearest Grey,

I'm so sorry I missed you when the Campania sunk. I'm so very grateful that you were able to make it off the ship alive and unharmed, though I'm not surprised. We had some urgent business to take care of, something that I'll have to explain to you in person.

I just want you to know, I will return to you, one way or another. There are some things I must tend to before I can return to the life I had before this, rightfully by yours and Athena's sides. I will be in town to complete some business in a week's time from now. Once I am done, we shall meet at the main town squared. I hope to see you there.

I love you, Charles.

Yours faithfully,

(Y/n).

She wouldn't tell anyone of the letter she wrote, nor her plans to see her husband - it was much too risky given her reputation. Instead, she would research, and figure this all out herself.

One afternoon, she caught Ronald in his office, still working hard away at that overtime from that Campania incident. Admittedly, she still felt awkward about what happened on the ship. Neither of them had really spoken about it since it happened, not that they knew how to go about discussing the topic. Things between them were obviously done, it was nothing more than a fling which she figured he'd recover from by a rebound. Still, there had been no closure, and that left a tension between them that anyone could sense.

She still cared about him, but it was different now. She knew she couldn't give her heart away when it already belonged to someone else.

Placing three gentle knocks on the door of his office, (Y/n) alerted Ronald to her presence. When he realized it was her, his demeanor seemed to shift drastically from focused to stunned yet so very obviously hurt. (Y/n) awkwardly cleared her voice.

"...I'm sorry to disturb you Ronald, I know you're busy," she began shyly, shimmying into his office, "...I just...wanted to talk to you about a few things."

Ronald stared at her for a moment, saying nothing, as though he were trying to decide whether or not he was ready for this conversation. (Y/n) didn't take offence to this, she only waited patiently for his permission or denial.

With a quiet sigh, Ronald motioned for (Y/n) to take a seat in the chair in front of his desk. She did so silently, and once again the room was filled with an awkward, deafening silence.
