Darkness surrounded me. I was in an empty void, floating for what felt like an eternity. Was this what Hell was like? Was this to be my eternal punishment? Nothingness? If so, I deserved it. To be lost to time and space. I'd done horrible, horrible things. Things I knew could never be forgiven. I wasn't surprised I had been cast into Hell. Not one bit.
"Is this what we have come to?" I found it a bit hard to turn towards the strangely familiar voice, seeing as I was flowing in this consuming darkness. The woman before me stood tall and proud, her long bone-white hair was pulled up into a loose, sort of updo that was threaded through with thin, silver chains. Her skin was that perfect deep brown I wished mine would return to. And her eyes--gods, her eyes were a deep gold that glued me to my place.
"This mangled, infiltrated half self?" I felt like a fish out of water. Mouth gaping open and closed. The women's large, pitch black, feathered wings flapped in impertinence. "Well? What had you say, daughter of darkness?" I couldn't speak. My voice lost in the void. "I see you. For you are me. Remember, child. Remember our greatness. Our destiny." I didn't know what this woman was talking about or who she was. I watched helplessly as the mysterious woman came close. She was close enough for me to fully see her facial features now. She was me--a better, powerful, and dangerous me. She gave a great sigh. "Soon...He has promised our return soon. We will rule over this realm and all others by his side. And we will be one once more."
"Who are you?" My voice spilled from my lips after an eternity of trying. The women's full-lips pulled up into a smirk.
"I am you. I am Eyno."
"Bad--we are no longer her. We awake." Shattered's voice echoed throughout my darkness.
"I-I'm confused. Who are you?" I asked, feeling myself getting pulled backward by some strong wind. The white-haired woman was grinning now.
"All in due time." Was the last thing she said before I was flung sharp and fast through the darkness.
"Bad--bad!" Shattered echoed as I tumbled through the darkness. I fell to the hard ground, though I wouldn't call it ground. Just endless nothingness. An animal's growl sounded behind me. I could feel its hot breath on my neck. Slowly, I turned to face the massive gray wolf. Its red eyes cut through the darkness, making this void tremble and fall around us. The wolf took a threatening step towards me, a snarl shaking through the nothingness. "Wake!" Blinding red light shattered the void and the ground gave out beneath me. I free-fell through the fading darkness.
Pain ricocheted throughout my body. A red hot burning that shot me awake. Bright. It was so bright. Wild beeping. Can't breathe--I couldn't breathe! I grabbed at the tube shoved down my throat and ripped it out, taking heaving breaths. Gods the pain!
Hands grabbed my shoulders, trying to push me back down. I could hear muffled voices around me. I blinked rapidly, the fog clouding my eyes slowly fading. It was the red-headed doctor, Knockout. "--se, My lady. You must lay back down. You've--" I shoved his hands off my shoulders, groaning as pain shot through my muscles.
"Rejecting."
"Rejecting." I gritted out, throwing my legs over the medical bed.
"What? Darksong--" I hissed at Knockout and the doctor took a step backward, fear clear in his eyes. "You've been out for days, My lady...You aren't strong enough--"
"Stop his squabbling." I stood, pain lacing up my legs. I shoved it down, shoved everything down as I blindly walked over to Knockout.
"My lady--"
"Gods that title! Enough!" I hissed, grabbing Knockout by the throat. He made a squawking fear-filled yelp, his hand flying up to my wrist. He tried speaking again but I shoved him down on one of his neatly organized desks.
