The Magamaze was quiet today, though, it was quiet most days. But today it was a--different--sort of silence. It was filled with awaiting tension. Everyone wanted to know what the deal was with Lady Darksong. Or--that's how it felt to me.

I hadn't been able to sleep one drop last night, so I had resorted to roaming the halls, merely to find myself back at the place my mind was glued on. I found Darksong's last two remaining Sins standing guard. Either Megatron had put them up to this or they had done it themselves.

No one really knew anything about the Seven Deadly Sins. We knew they were the Decepticon's most elite inner circle, and that they were fiercely loyal to Darksong. Some even said that they held no loyalty to Megatron. That they would kill him without a second thought if Darksong commanded it. I knew them to be a pain in the ass.

They must take some commands from Megatron because I found, once again, I wasn't allowed in. So I sat across the hall, waiting at the med bay door like some dog. And that's where I stayed all night. Aurora gave a loud yawn that was entirely too dramatic. "I'm going to grab a bite. You want anything?" The pink-haired Sin asked her partner. Blaze shook his head making Aurora roll her red eyes.

"Boring," She made a point in dragging out all the syllabus. "Though I would love it if you two killed each other while I was gone, I know Lady Darksong wouldn't. So please keep your hands to yourselves." She gave us her signature crazed smile before leaving.

Silence filled the hallway again and I was immensely grateful. I had no desire to talk to Blaze or anyone for that matter. Seconds ticked by, then minutes, and before long an hour went by since Aurora left. I stood, stretching my stiff wings out. Out of the corner of my eye I caught sight of Blaze staring daggers my way. I turned to face him, a deep frown on my face. "What are you still doing here?" Blaze asked, not at all friendly.

"I could ask you the same thing." He growled.

"I'm sworn to protect my lady. I have a reason to be here. I'm not a waste of space." His words did nothing to affect me. I had gotten used to being called names and being put down. This wasn't any different.

"Your words wound me, Blaze," I said mockingly. He growled again, getting angrier by the moment. "Why should you care what I'm doing?"

"Because it's why you're doing it." He snarled at me. I tried to play dumb.

"I don't know what-" He growled again, taking a dangerous step forward.

"Fuck you. She could be yours in seconds if you said the word." If only it was so easy. I wished it could be. Heck, I had been trying to win her back for years. Centuries even. It was up to her, not me. Before I could say another word to him, the med bay door slid open. Songbird, who looked exhausted, came out. She stopped upon seeing me.

"Starscream." Songbird gave a weak smile. I could tell from the dried tears staining her rosy cheeks she had been crying. "Knockout--he says her body's failing. He says--he says--" A sob shook her small form, and before her knees could crash to the ground, my arms were wrapped around her. Fear was like a cage around my heart. Fear so intense I couldn't find the words to speak. "I don't know if my baby's going to make it."

Later that evening, I sat in one of the lounge rooms with Songbird, who had fallen into a fitful sleep. Songbird, once she had calmed down a bit, had explained to me what was going on. Like she had said before, Darksong's body was failing her. Knockout had found internal bleeding, a collapsed lung, and much more. The reason Songbird had even left her daughter's side was so that Knockout could try to slow said failing body.
