I stood in the mini control room, watching over the Vehicons as they worked. My eyes stung and my body ached from what little sleep I had gotten, but yet again, it's nothing new. Ever since the war started my sleep has been interrupted and stopped one way or another. I aimlessly swiped through my datapad, not really reading anything.
I couldn't focus. Not after what Starscream and I found in the mine. Dark energon. The undead. Someone controlling them. The familiar feeling I get when I'm around those creatures. The blacking out. It was all too much to think about. Who was controlling them? I could cross the Autobots off the list. They wanted nothing to do with dark energon and the rising of the dead. Though, they did want us dead. It wasn't a good enough reason. Who then?
The door to the control room slid open and in walked Megatron. I placed a fist over my heart and bowed. He came to a stop beside me and said nothing. After a few seconds, I stood. I looked up to the warlord. "Everything is running smoothly and cloning is underway."
"Good...good." Megatron clasped his hands behind his back and continued to overlook the Vehicons. Normally, he would leave at this point. Him staying and not saying anything makes me nervous. I turn my datapad off and place it on the table that serves as my work desk. My wings disappeared in a cloud of darkness. If he plans to beat me, my wings need to be off-limits. Megatron growls before turning to me. I try my hardest not to flinch. "You're right." I stand there, confused.
"Uh...My lord?" He growls again.
"We need to talk to Optimus before those creatures attack again." He gritted out. I almost don't believe what I'm hearing. He's not only admitting I was right, but he is also saying we need help. Saying he wants help.
"Yes, the sooner the better," Megatron growled again before turning to leave. As he did, he made a sharp gesture to follow. I quickly grabbed up my datapads and rushed after him. The walk was quiet to the commutations hub. What if Optimus let slip he knew about those creatures. What if he just outright told Megatron we talked last night. I almost scoffed. Optimus wouldn't put me in that kind of danger...yet again I wasn't sure.
The door slid open and we found Soundwave typing away at one of the computers. Laserbeak, a shy little thing, was playing around until he saw us and instantly stopped. I told Soundwave what we intended to do and he went about going to contact the Autobots. Megatron folded his hands behind his back, tapping his fingers. He was nervous. A rarity with him. But I knew why. My mom was with the Autobots. And thank the gods for it. She was much better off there.
The screen switched on and Optimus's worn face showed up. Ratchet stood close behind him and further back I could see the rest of the Autobots. No sign of my mom anywhere. I almost gave a sigh of relief. "Megatron. What do you want?" Megatron scanned behind the Prime one more time before looking him in the eyes.
"We were attacked the other night. By an army we believed you lot had somehow gathered." The Autobots looked around at each other, confused. The slightest bit of hope gleaming in their eyes. But Optimus knew. "They were no army of Autobots. These creatures are neither of Decepticon or Autobot origin. They barely looked Cybertronian."
"Why are you telling us this?" Ratchet asked, the normal disgust and annoyance in his voice. Megatron stared narrowly at the Autobots before looking to me. He gestured for me to talk. I gave a small sigh as I turned my gaze onto the Autobots. Onto their hateful stares. I hated public speaking. I especially hated talking to people who I had wronged.
"Um...well--we know nothing about these creatures. They came in greater numbers and strength than our own." Megatron tensed beside me. The Autobots fell into a worried silence. "I was hoping we could meet somewhere to discuss them and the danger they pose towards both our sides." Megatron's breath hitched and I instantly scanned the screen. Standing there, in the very back, was my mom. Her light blue wings were pressed tight to her back as she crossed her arms, a deep frown on her face. Gods I wanted so badly to be there with her. It had been too long since I had been able to speak with her. To hug her.
